Business arising from previous AGM and EGM Minutes. 3.1 Membership levels Proposed changes to the Full and Accredited Membership levels have been presented to members for discussion and have been put to vote. 3.2 Education competency assessment A report on the discussion session held at the 2016 ANTA Inc Scientific Meeting was presented to members via the ANTA Inc enewsletter December 2016 issue 13. This report highlighted the limited options for competence based training in Neurophysiology and the suggested options for ANTA Inc. to pursue in order to amend the lack of accepted competence training. 1

4 4 9. Association Fees The Association fees remain at $80 per annum, payable at the beginning of the financial year. Part year payments are no longer accepted 10. Treasurers Report and Auditors Reports Treasurer and Auditor Reports have been tabled via Motion: The Auditor s Report for , as tabled, is accepted as true and correct. General Business 11.1 Executive Goals for Education competency assessment The Executive will formalise a system to allow members and non members to reach the appropriate competence in Neurophysiology, getting back to having a national standard in competence Continued Professional Development (CPD) As part of the new criteria for Accredited Membership, CPD will be monitored. The Executive will work with the Education Committee on ways to best monitor and audit CPD for Accredited members as outlined in the CPD Guidelines Website Upgrade The Executive will work towards improvement on the ANTA Inc website to include smooth handling of Membership applications, upgrades and payments. A frequently asked questions (FAQ) tab, Conference Registration payment system, CPD tab and a Journal tab are all being considered ejournal The executive will look at an alternative way to present articles written by members. This is likely to take the form of a tab on the website for articles to be submitted and uploaded for members to view once completed. This will reduce the workload of producing a Journal. 4

5 5 12. Proposed Changes to the Constitution Special Resolutions Resolution Full Member Full membership can be given to persons working in the field of Neurophysiological Measurement in Australia. BECOMES 5.1 Full Membership Any person working in the field of Clinical Neurophysiology within Australia who has a Bachelor of Medical/Biomedical Science with major components of human anatomy and physiology (or equivalent). They must be working towards gaining practical competence in at least Electroencephalography. This level is only available for a two year period, after which the requirements of Accredited Membership must be filled or the Member will automatically drop to Associate Membership status. Any Member who has been accepted a an Full Member prior to 2017 AGM will remain a Full Member for as long as they remain financial in the Association or until they are eligible for Accredited Membership. 57 Votes submitted 0 skipped For: 51 (89%) Against: 6 Outcome: Majority in favour Resolution Accredited Member An Accredited Member must hold a minimum Science degree. They must have at least one (1) year practical experience and achieve a practical level of competence deemed acceptable by ANTA in accordance with the Community Service and Health Training Australia (CSHTA): Qualifications Framework, Health Training Package BECOMES 5.2 Accredited Member An Accredited member must hold a minimum Bachelor of Medical/Biomedical Science with major components of human anatomy and physiology (or equivalent). They must have at least one (1) year practical experience and achieved a practical level of competence deemed acceptable by ANTA Inc. including Performing EEG Competence. They must maintain ANTA Inc. Continued Professional Development (CPD). Proposed Changes to the Guidelines 19. CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ANTA Inc. provides a recommended Continued Professional Development Scheme. A document outlining the implementation and the expected requirements of continued professional development in Neurophysiology will be made available to all members via the ANTA Inc. website. Implementing Continuing Professional Development in Clinical Neurophysiology Health Profession Neurophysiology Scientists and Technologists 20. ANTA INC EDUCATION PATHWAY AND COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT TOOLS 20a Education Pathway The Council will provide a suggested Neurophysiology education pathway relevant to the current education and employment requirements. This guide will be made available to all members and non members via the ANTA Inc Website. Accepted Practical Guidelines for Competence Training Courses as Approved by ANTA 20b ANTA Inc. Competency Assessment Tool When possible ANTA Inc will provide a tool for Competency Assessment in Electroencephalography, Evoked Potentials and Nerve Conduction Studies. These assessment tools will be co-ordinated by the Education Representative and executed by an Education Committee. Information regarding any Competency Assessment tool provided by ANTA Inc. will be advertised via the ANTA Inc. Website 14. Any Other Business 14.1 Vicky Grant has suggested the platform Yammer be utilised for communication within ANTA. Vicky presented the uses of Yammer for communication within our Association. Discussion: Yammer is currently being utilised for communication amongst peers in workplaces. Questions arose regarding the administration and governing of material shared. Action: The Executive to explore the benefits of Yammer for our association. 15. Annual Awards Best Journal Article Award No Journal was produced this year. ANTA Achievement Award: No nominations received for Best Scientific Presentation The recipient of Best Scientific Presentation was awarded to Leah Hanson The recipient of Best Debut Scientific Presentation Award was awarded to Kylie McKenzie 6

7 7 The recipient of Best Poster was awarded to Christina Mitrovic. There was no award for Best Debut Poster this year due to lack of debut poster presentations. 16. ANTA Conference 2018 Jo Castle has expressed interest in hosting the 2018 ANTA Inc Conference on the Sunshine Coast, Qld. Business Closed: 4.15pm Meeting Closed: pm 7
