Expenditures incurred by members that are not covered by the Budget shall require Board approval. These bills shall be submitted to the Treasurer on or before February 1 st of the next year. Committee Chairs shall be responsible for notifying committee members to submit receipts for expenses within this time frame. 4 BCOA BOARD BALLOTS BALLOT APPROVED SUBJECT: RESCUE DONATION Effective: September 9, 2015, phone conference meeting Per the BCOA Rescue Policy -- BCOA may agree in extraordinary circumstances (as determined by the BCOA Board of Directors) to offer direct financial assistance or co-fund a rescue project with an independent, incorporated rescue group. Such an extraordinary event has occurred for Basenji Rescue and Transportation (BRAT) having recently taken on 26 intact basenjis. BRAT contacted BCOA with a request for assistance. With input from our BCOA Rescue Committee (Chair -Joe Carlson [FL] and Co-chair Sharron Hurlbut [WA], please indicate your vote on using rescue funds of $500 to assist BRAT with vet care and placement of these 26 dogs. Three awards, one each in the categories of Conformation, Companion Events, and Performance, will be presented in recognition of exceptional participation in the fancy. First awarded in 2000, the purpose of the awards is to celebrate those individuals whose many years of dedication have led to significant contributions to the sport of purebred dogs on a national level. 8 CRUFTS The Kennel Club, England, has designated the 2015 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship and the 2015 BCOA National Specialty as the United States qualifying shows for Crufts. Recipients of Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Awards of Merit and Selects, and if offered at these events, Best Bredby-Exhibitor, are eligible for entry in Crufts 2016 or 2017 as a U.S. International qualifier. The Crufts Qualifying Certificate is available to all eligible winners of these 2 events. The Certificate is available by contacting BCOA Secretary, Janet Ketz, jlketz@aol.com or Each certificate is good for Crufts entry in either 2016 or 2017, and must be submitted along with each entry for Crufts to verify qualification.
