3 Introduction FDOT S Traffic Records Coordinating Committee (TRCC) awarded the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FHSMV) the 2018 Crash and Uniform Traffic Citation Data Improvement Project. 2

4 Introduction The purpose of this grant is to improve the completeness and accuracy of crash report data and Uniform Traffic Citations (UTC) by facilitating statewide trainings with all Florida law enforcement agencies. 3

5 Training Objectives Identify the administration, issuance, processing, and reporting of Uniform Traffic Citations. Accurately complete Standard and DUI Uniform Traffic Citations. Recognize common errors and solutions for accuracy when completing Uniform Traffic Citations. 4

15 Clerk of Courts Receive and account for citations issued by law enforcement agencies Dispose citations by collection of fees or normal court process If necessary will notify law enforcement of any citation errors that will need to be corrected Notification of failure to comply to DHSMV Submit final disposition of UTC to DHSMV within 10 days of disposition 14

16 Florida Court Clerks and Comptrollers UTC files are sent to the Department via Traffic Citation Accounting and Transmission System (TCATS) Verify citation number is valid in TCATS Validate data fields and apply appropriate business rules Arrest- Offense data Fail to Comply (FTC) Disposition- Case outcome 15
