2 BSRC N Section, Brunei Shell Recreation Club, Seria, KB3534 GENERAL RULES FOR MEMBERS OF THE BSRC NETBALL SECTION 1. OBJECTIVE i) To promote NETBALL for the Brunei Shell Recreation Club members and their dependants, male and female alike, as a means of attaining immediate or long-term health benefits. i To select players to represent the club in any tournaments. To foster better relationship amongst the BSRC members. To inculcate positive morale especially in team spirit. v) Aspires to be the best at National Level. 2. MANAGEMENT The Section comes under the BSRC Sports Section, lead by the Sport Secretary. The following positions, elected annually, shall be the Section Committee Members responsible for the smooth running of the section: i) Captain i Vice Captain Secretary Treasurer and, v) working committee members. A coach shall be made available to provide proper skill and fitness training for the Section Members. 3. FACILITIES An outdoor court is available for use by the section. Non-section members have to seek permission from the Section Committee if they wish to utilise the court. N Court benches are for N Section use only. Use by other party either in presence or absence of any N Section members at the court, without prior notice to the section, shall hold the party liable for any loss or damage of property thereof. Alternatively, TWO indoor courts are available for use during tournaments. These indoor courts are shared with the Badminton Section. ONE indoor court shall be used by The N Section every Wednesday 5:15pm to 7:00pm. 2 of 5

3 BSRC N Section, Brunei Shell Recreation Club, Seria, KB MEMBERSHIP All BSRC members are eligible to join the BSRC N Section. Completed application form shall be sent to the Section Secretary. The Section Committee have the right to accept or reject an application and may terminate any membership due to misconduct or any breach of Section /Club rules. All accepted and registered N Section members shall automatically release, indemnify, and hold the organizer and the committee associated with any N Section s event, harmless for their negligence and from any injuries, liability, or damages that their negligence, member s negligence, or the acts or omissions of others may cause or that may otherwise result from his/her participation in any event organised/or participated by BSRC N Section 5. SUBSCRIPTION Effective 1 st January 2004, The BSRC N Section shall impose a nonrefundable ONCE OFF registration fee of $5.00 to all new Section Members. Non-refundable annual subscription fee is B$24.00 (Twenty-four dollars only). Full fee will be charged for application received between 1 st January and 30 th June, B$12.00 (Twelve dollars only) for application between 1 st July and 31 st December. The Section membership will expire on every 31 st December of the year. Subscription fee for all Section Members shall be deducted via January payroll for each year. Unless otherwise advised by the Section Treasurer. 6. RESIGNATION Any member who wishes to resign from the section, shall be required to submit a written resignation to the BSRC N Section Secretary one month in advance. There shall be NO fees refund. A member who has resigned may re-join the Section only after three (3) months of his/ her resignation. This shall be treated as a new membership application and a registration fee and subscription fee (full or half whichever is applicable) shall apply. 7. OBLIGATION TO REPRESENT THE CLUB The Club team shall be selected by the Section Committee with due advice from the Section Coach. The decision will be final. Selected members shall fulfil the following conditions: - i) Full fledge Section Members including his/her dependants. i PREPARED to play HOME and AWAY matches. ATTEND minimum 75% practice sessions. ATTEND minimum 75% training sessions. 3 of 5

4 BSRC N Section, Brunei Shell Recreation Club, Seria, KB3534 v) ABIDE by all rules and instructions governing a club player. vi) ACQUIRED the level of fitness and skills set by Sub Section committee from time to time to meet the challenges of each tournament he/she is representing. 8. ACCIDENTS/INJURIES As a registered member of the N Section, a member is fully accountable for any accident or injury incurred during the training/ practice sessions or during participation in any N Section activities whether it is within the Club premises or elsewhere. The Section Committee accepts no liabilities for whatsoever injuries or fatality sustained thereof. 9. PRACTICE Practice sessions are held every Wednesdays and Thursdays. Wednesdays practices are at the indoor courts and Thursdays practices are at the outdoor court. Practice time is 5:15pm 6:30pm. 10. DRESS CODE i) Proper sportswear shall be worn at all times during any n activities. No jewellery shall be used during any n activities. The Section Committee accepts no liability for any loss of such items, or injury caused by the same, at any time or place therein. 11. COURT BOOKINGS (a) Indoor Courts i) The Section Committee reserves the right to book the indoor court for official tournaments, team practices and special occasions with prior consent from the Sport s Secretary. (b) The Committee shall inform the relevant Sports Section if this so arises. Outdoor Court i) Non-section members shall seek permission from the Section Committee if they so wish to utilise this court for purpose of training/ practice or others. i The Section Committee reserves the right to accept/refuse any request depending on the availability of the court. In absence of any consent whatsoever as to the use of this court from the Section Committee; The Section Committee accepts no liabilities for injuries or fatalities sustained by any players thereof. 4 of 5

FRIENDLY MATCHES Friendly matches shall be arranged via the Section Committee ONLY. Matches may be held at BSRC or Away. 13. SECTION JERSEY i) A new member shall only receive the FULL Section jersey, three months after actively participating in various N Activities and that the member s participation in tournaments is anticipated. i The Section Committee reserves the right NOT to issue Section jersey to members who are NOT actively participating in the Section. All members selected to represent the team for any tournaments or friendly games, shall put on the Section Jersey as advised by the Section Captain. A member who resigned from the Section but re-joined the Section after three (3) months or more will only be eligible to receive a new jersey after his / her continuous membership for two (2) consecutive years, unless advised otherwise. v) Any members issued with the Section jersey and decided to resign without any prior written resignation to the Section Committee or joined the section for less than 2 years, shall be subject to a fee of $ NOTE The Section Committee reserves the right to make amendments to any of the above rules and regulations upon approval from the Sport Secretary.
