2 Course/Module description: The course asseses the possible links between globalization and the attempts to manage it, both in a regional context of regional governance, and in a global context (of global governance). In the last part of the course students present their work in progress. Course/Module aims: This seminar is designed for students in their MA (graduate) level, who are interested in researching the possible links between processes of globalization and theories and realities of international relations. In the context of this course, we will study the different definitions and multiple dimensions of the process of globalization in international relations, including the political, economic, cultural, and normative dimensions. After that we will discuss the mutual effects between globalization and democracy, distribution of wealth (in terms of poverty and inequality), peace, war, environment, technology, and international ethics. Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to: On the successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand better the complexity of the subject of international relations in the age of globalization. Attendance requirements(%): 80% of attendance Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: The course is structured as a seminar, with an active participation from the students, based upon a dynamic interaction of questions and answers and discussions in class, bibliographical presentations by the students.
