Dr. Mejdi Bektashi Prof. Dr. Hivzi Sojeva Contact details: mejdi.bektashi@uni-pr.edu h_fs_sojeva@hotmail.com Course Description (content): Course Learning Objectives: Expected Learning Outcomes: Studying of the course "Economy" is a general introduction on the knowledge and methods of elaboration of economic science. Explanation of economics helps the students to understand better and easier, to explain and to analyze matters relating to the categories and economic laws. The main objective of the course is that students will be able to explain the basic concepts of economics, such as insufficient resources, choices, usefulness, inputs, outputs, costs, economic activities, economic goods etc. After obtaining knowledge of these concepts, also will be explained the sources of economic knowledge, principles of economic thinking, to proceed with the recognition of types of economic systems and to continue with the explanation of the linkage between the law and economics. Abilities and skills that will obtain students after successful completion of this course are: Understand and describe the different ways of thinking about various economic phenomena (economic way of thinking); Ability to describe the primary economic problems facing each individual: the insufficiency and choice; Ability to describe and analyze basic economic problems, terminology (language of the economy) and to develop rational economic logic; Ability to compare the relationship between the lack of resources, value, usefulness, wealth and spending; Knowledge to make the difference between a 1

2 market economy, socialism or the mixed economy. Academic Policies and Rules of Conduct: The following behaviors are contrary to academic policies and rules of conduct: Delays in lectures and exercises; Leaving of the hall during lectures or exercises (no reason needed);; Clear signs of non-interest and uninterrupted speech or other forms of behavior that impede due process of learning; Using mobile phone during lectures or exercises will result in loss of points due to misconduct. Violation of academic integrity includes one or more of the following: Cheating during test or final exam; Unauthorized use of notes or books during the test or final exam; Exchange of information with another student during the exam; Giving false statements to justify someone during teaching, practice or exam. 5
