2 INTRODUCTION The purpose of the intensive programme is to introduce students to the Network on Humanitarian Action (NOHA) and to familiarise them with the main actors and some of the contemporary issues and challenges in the field of humanitarian assistance. The programme focuses also on strengthening personal competencies as communication skills, including cross-cultural understanding, self-reliance, self-criticism, and teamwork ability. Learning Outcome of the IP Discover the Humanitarian World including ECHOs role and support to NOHA Understand the NOHA Programme and learn the role of partners Gain access to the NOHA faculty and see them with their expertise Be active in analyzing the mechanisms to design humanitarian policy Get in contact with students from NOHA member universities The Structure of the IP The IP provides different lecture types The IP offers an active role of NOHA professors The IP enables an active role of students The programme components are related to the overall objective of the IP and the NOHA education Programme Components of the IP Compass sessions provide orientation to a programme or area Mapping sessions offer comprehensive overviews on specific aspects of an institution, action, crisis etc. Studio sessions present insights into or opportunities for activities related to a possible design of humanitarian policy Simulation sessions provide opportunities to actively draft a design of HP Chatroom sessions grant access to lecturers, professors, NOHA-links, conference facilitators Please note The conference language is English. Simultaneous translation into German is not provided.
