JTI Switzerland
Presence Japan Tobacco International (JTI) is a global player with local roots. What began in 1971 as a small company has now grown over the last four decades into a major production location. Today, we produce well-known cigarette brands such as Camel and Winston for the Swiss market and for export. JTI is the fastest-growing tobacco company in Switzerland. As part of its growth strategy, JTI has taken over R.J. Reynolds and Gallaher. These acquisitions have broadened our brand portfolio, extended our presence worldwide, and enriched our heritage. Our success obliges us to take our responsibilities seriously and in a committed manner. We ensure that the decisions we make take into account the needs of our employees, customers, business partners, and wider society. This allows us to build long-lasting relationships based on mutual respect: with strong roots for a blossoming future. JTI Switzerland 2 JTI Switzerland 3
Presence around the World JTI is a member of the Japan Tobacco Group of Companies, a leading international tobacco product manufacturer. JTI has operations in 120 countries. JTI is represented in Switzerland with its global headquarters in Geneva and the Swiss factory and market organization in Dagmersellen. JTI Presence JTI Switzerland 4 JTI Switzerland 5
Our Brands Tobacco is our passion. Our brands are what drive us on. With them we create legends. We have over 100 tobacco products in our global portfolio but our core strength lies in our Flagship Brands. They have all played a significant role in our growth and become iconic brands. Our Flagships in Switzerland are Camel and Winston: Camel With Camel we developed in 1913 a cigarette brand with a unique flavor. Camel was an immediate hit with smokers and within a short time conquered the whole world a popularity that has lasted more than 100 years. Winston Winston was launched in the United States in 1954 and soon became one of the most popular filter cigarettes. Today, the brand is stronger than ever and ranks amongst the most popular cigarettes in the world. JTI Switzerland 6 JTI Switzerland 7
Swiss Quality We supply our quality products to the world. Every day we supply Switzerland and the rest of the world with quality products from our Dagmersellen factory. In recent years the warehousing areas have been extended and ultramodern production facilities installed. That is why we can now deploy highly efficient production methods using state-of-the-art technologies. This makes Dagmersellen an important production location for the JTI Group. We will continue to invest in the very best technology, know-how, and the ongoing development of our employees in order to secure the long-term strategic importance of the location within the JTI Group. JTI Switzerland 8 JTI Switzerland 9
Growing Together Our employees are our most important capital. We help them to develop their full potential. Our role as an employer is to provide the right tools and environment to help our people reach their full potential so that they can grow together with the business. What makes us special at JTI is that we bring people together. As part of a global company, our employees can enjoy the professionally rewarding and personally enriching experience of different departments, projects, and countries. We listen to what our people have to say and we take their opinions on board. Their ongoing continuing training and further development are of paramount importance to us. JTI Switzerland 10 JTI Switzerland 11

Sustainability Success brings obligations. We take our responsibility seriously in every respect. Sustainability is a key factor along the entire supply chain. Our initiatives in the areas of the environment, health, and safety promote both the well-being of our employees and environmentally friendly production. Firstly, we work for better agricultural practices, support projects for clean drinking water, and help to eliminate child labor. Secondly, we pursue reduction targets for waste, water consumption, and energy consumption and promote a health and safety culture in our factories. This is how we take our responsibility seriously for society and the environment. JTI Switzerland 14 JTI Switzerland 15
Our Commitment Getting involved means making a difference. We aim to ensure that all the projects we support do make a difference. We believe in engaging with society and people not only on a global level but also locally. We have two main aims: improving the lives of less advantaged people and supporting the arts. Our projects focus on reducing poverty, assisting older people, and promoting adult education. Furthermore, we support local cultural heritage projects and contemporary art. As part of its corporate philanthropy activities, JTI also gives financial support to the JTI Foundation, a legally independent charity actively involved in disaster relief aid and disaster risk reduction. 11 Control We take a zero-tolerance approach to illicit trade. The illegal trade in tobacco products is a problem. It can take many forms, including contraband 1, counterfeit 2, and illicit whites 3. This not only undermines the trust customers place in our brands but also threatens government tax revenues. The necessary framework conditions must be created to put a stop to this illicit trade. We take a zero-tolerance approach to illicit trade. The safety of our employees and the integrity of the supply chain have priority for us. In the fight against illicit trade we use a Track & Trace system with a unique identifying code. This allows us to trace our products back through the supply chain. A number of rigorous compliance programs serve as additional control instruments to protect the integrity of our entire value chain. 1 Genuine products smuggled from abroad. 2 Fake products appearing to be a genuine brand. 3 Legitimately manufactured brand cigarettes intentionally sold on the black market. JTI Switzerland 20 JTI Switzerland 21
Responsibility We take our responsibility as a tobacco company seriously and have six guiding principles. As a representative of a highly regulated sector, JTI seeks to bring balance to the discussion surrounding tobacco legislation. We are openminded, open to dialogue, and advocate solutions that are evidence-based, appropriate, and, above all, effective. We have six guiding principles in our daily work: 01 Openness about the risks of smoking 02 Transparency about our products 03 Commitment to the development of reduced-risk products 04 Youth smoking prevention 05 Accommodation between smokers and nonsmokers 06 Respect for local norms and cultures JTI Switzerland 22 JTI Switzerland 23
