1 UNIDAD ACADÉMICA Law School VERSIÓN (2018) NAME OF THE ACTIVITY One week Executive Program: Law, Business and Political Institutions in Latin-America through Chilean Experience PRESENTATION One week Executive Program oriented primarily to foreigners who want to understand the new trends in Chilean and Latin-American law as well as national and regional regulation, business and political institutions, with classes in English, discussion and case analysis including guided professional and cultural visits. DESCRIPTION Both the world and the Latin-American region face the rapid and challenging interactions of the changing regulatory, political and economic reality. How can we understand and be prepared to face this reality? The raw materials cycle seems to have come to an end, revealing threats and opportunities depending on each country's ability to offer better regulatory and business solutions. The current trend in a globalized market is that countries face similar challenges for the Latin- American region in issues such as international trade, political changes, corruption, migration, protectionism, populism, environment, infrastructure, energy, taxes, foreign investment and innovation issues. Chile has comparative advantages to illustrate these changes, where regulatory standards and law in general play a significant role both in facilitating and sometimes in hindering cross-border trade, investment and other challenges. This course will openly discuss the main aspects of trends in Chile and the Latin American region in the context of people, companies and governments that are looking for cooperation that improves and integrates within a competitive market. This is an executive program with professional objectives including classes in English and discussion of cases with relevant trends in law and regulation in Chile and the region.
