2 Youth employment is one of the key priorities of the current work programme of the European Economic and Social Committee's Labour Market Observatory (LMO). This public hearing is closely linked to an impact study that the LMO is currently conducting on the implementation of EU policies for youth employment in a selection of six Member States (Austria, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Italy and Slovakia). The study focuses on the views of organised civil society on the policies currently in place to help young people find work. Its main aims are to assess the level of involvement of the social partners and organised civil society in this field, to put forward their comments, ideas and recommendations and to identify good practices or difficulties encountered in the Member States.
