Guidance of thesis At the M.A Economics program of Haifa University and the Technion and at the M.H.A program of Haifa University. 20 Academic Profiles My major fields of interest and research are econometrics, finance, macro-economics, economic growth and labor economics. Currently, I teach macroeconomics, econometrics and finance. Since 2009 I'm the chair of economics and management department at Emek Yezreel Academic College. Most of my published papers were written by me as a sole writer. My published research in labor economics includes several theoretical papers on labor market flows and the effect of benefits, gender and qualifications on unemployment and on worker mobility. My papers extend the existing literature in the field of search models by adding the possibility of analyzing various kind of workers (while in existing literature all workers are homogenous), and by endogenizing the separation rate, which in many existing papers is assumed to be exogenous. I have also published a formal proof showing that the separation rate cannot be exogenous. I developed a technique that enables to calculate labor market flows by using labor market stocks at the beginning and at the end of each time period. Such a technique can be very useful for statistical agencies as well as for researchers. My published research in macroeconomics includes a theoretical model and an empirical examination of the desired government policy needed for the minimization of the social loss function. In another paper I criticized the reliability of labor income data published in Israel. My research includes another paper suggesting a theoretical model for optimal allocation of the public budget. I published with others two papers that discusses the central bank interest decisions. My research in Economic Growth includes the extension of the overlapping generation model to include multiple categories of labor. The importance of the papers is in its ability to analyze the changes in the income of various categories of workers along the growth path of the economy, therefore, providing a useful framework for analysis of income distribution along the path to steady state equilibrium. 13

14 I developed an overlapping generation model with multiple categories of capital. The importance of this paper is its ability to analyze changes in the amount of various categories of capital along the growth path of the economy. The paper, therefore, provides a useful framework for analysis of capital distribution along the path to steady state equilibrium. My theoretical published research in economic growth includes the analysis of pollution, health and other aspects along the growth path of the economy. My research in finance and corporate finance includes the examination of first-day and yearly yield following initial public offering in Israel Other papers I published discusses the validity of the Put Call Parity, the causality relationships among worlds' stock markets, the validity of CAPM model, and Examination of the effect of natural phenomena's on stocks' yield in Israel. I published a theoretical paper that enables to estimate the internalization of analyst s recommendations to buy stocks and an empirical paper that examines the effect of recommendations on stock price. In another paper I examined the changes in average returns and standard deviations of stocks that were recommended to "buy", by analysts. One of my papers proposes an index for evaluating the internalization of analyst's recommendations by investors at various points of time that follow the recommendation day. My research on power plants construction includes the development of an algorithm for evaluating the number of controls in trigger target model. In another paper I suggested Trigger - Target algorithm for evaluating the distribution of Labor turnover, and in another paper written with coauthors we built an algorithm for estimating fish population in lakes and rivers. I published two papers suggesting a tax reform and discussed the efficiency aspects of increasing inheritance taxes while decreasing income taxes I published two theoretical papers presenting models for predicting housing prices. In one of the papers I used the model frame in order to predict future expected prices. Two of my papers suggest a technique for improving the forecast of soccer game results in the Israeli league and another paper empirically examines if the increase in the psychometric entrance threshold score Improve success in the social sciences at the B.A. level. In 2002, I coauthored together with Prof. Moshe Kim two books in Econometrics that were externally refereed, and were about 1,000 pages, published by the Open University. The books included various aspects of introduction to econometrics as well as more advanced topics. Estimation methods were demonstrated by many examples. These books cover a wide range of topics and can be used in undergraduate as well as in graduate econometric courses. 14

15 In 2006, I wrote an advanced book in econometrics, that was about 300 pages long. The book contains a discussion of advanced econometric issues such as maximum likelihood and general method of moments estimation methods, estimation of a system of equations, exogeneity tests, time series analysis, pooling, co-integration, vector auto-regression and binary dependent variables. Estimation methods were demonstrated by many examples. The book is suitable for graduate students, both at the M.A. and PhD levels.. In 2006, I coauthored, together with Prof. Yoram Weiss and with Avi Tilman, four units of about 300 pages in Labor economics that were externally refereed,, and were published by the Open University. The books included various aspects of labor economics, including many examples and an estimation of Israeli labor market connections. These books cover a wide range of topics and can be used in undergraduate as well as in graduate labor economics courses. My current research focuses on economic crises. Lately I wrote with Zvi Winner the paper "The Effect of Net Foreign Assets on Saving Rate". We showed that industrial countries in a bad financial state tend to decrease their saving rate as external debt is larger causing to deterioration in external debt while countries with good financial state tend to increase their saving rate and the tendency increase as financial state becomes better. Only in countries with a very large external debt saving rate tends to grow. The results point that gross foreign debt will keep increasing and will worsen world financial state causing increased risk of getting into a world crisis. My intention is to widen the theoretical and empirical research of economic crises. Currently I'm in a process of writing a paper that focuses on the desired government policy during economic crises. 15
