3 UNECE support to Greece TF Reform Assist the Greek Government and European Commission TFGR in implementing a holistic national trade facilitation reform Some of the project results are: Customs reform and computerized system Legal reform Application of EU best practice Stakeholder consultation Agriculture trade facilitation reform Since 2012, Greece has improved its ranking in the World Bank Doing Business study by 28 positions from position 100 to 72. The competitive position of Greece in the WB Customs related Logistic Performance Index show substantive improvement by 52 positions, from 94 to 42. 3

4 In preparation: Guide for drafting a national Trade Facilitation Roadmap Trade Facilitation Roadmap describes the countries trade facilitation approach: national policy objectives for trade facilitation, actions to be undertaken, Key performance indicators to measure implementation progress the timelines. Part I Template for the National Trade Facilitation Roadmap Guide with two parts: (I) template of a Roadmap document and (II) How to organise the drafting process 4

5 TF Roadmap Guideline A Guide from practitioners to practitioners Part II Process of drafting a National Trade Facilitation Roadmap. Builds on well-known planning methodologies such as the Logical Framework Approach and Prince2. Guide from practitioners to practitioners. Target group: policy makers and national trade facilitation committees, UNECE will look for substantive input from experienced trade facilitation implementers around the world. Their experiences and advice will be integrated in this Guide. 5

6 UNECE/ESCAP Guide for smarter food trade How can we improve agriculture supply chains to increas production and quality, make better use of resources and include smallholders? Apporach: Seek synergries from use of UNECEstandards in different knowlede areas (technology, policy regulation, quality managment, logistics) Build on new instruments implemented by Governments under the WTO Bali declration Propose strategy and a set of actions for implementation by policy makers 6
