Lots 1-16 Gatineau Front inclusive was returned to Reserve status by govt of Quebec Old Burial Ground: 2 acres of land situated near the Gatineau River Near what is now the Chateau Logue was returned to reserve status $400, was paid to purchase the land and build a park at the site. - The Specific Claims Tribunal Act October 16 A Feature of the action plan The Specific Claim Action Plan comes into force. The KZA hired a negotiator to address 24 claims. On July 23 the 80/20 interest ratio DIAND formula was used to establish the land value in the negotiation i.e. Land valued at $ in 1895 now estimated value $670, in 2013, using the 80/20 formula. DEFINITIONS ACT: Refers to a written law/statute that is made by the government of Canada BILL: Is a draft law/legislation that can be both public or private. A Bill needs the agreement and approval of the House of Commons, Senate and Crown to become Law. LAND CLAIMS (Two types): a) COMPREHENSIVE: traditional territorial lands b) SPECIFIC: deals with Canada s legal obligations and management of First Nations reserve lands and assets ORDER IN COUNCIL: Is a notice of an administrative decision issued by the government of Canada An Order In Council usually originates in the federal cabinet and approved by the Governor General
