The court conducts preliminary and pretrial hearings and trials, collects fines and court costs, and issues warrants of arrest and search. 3 My Juvenile Case Manager Duties: Managing the Diversion Program Cases Managing all Juvenile Municipal citations/class C misdemeanors for Juvenile Dockets Case Planning/Case Management Juvenile Diversion Program As of September 1, 2013, per , Texas Education Code of Subchapter E-1, the State of Texas allowed schools with onsite peace officers to utilize graduated sanctions. Under these graduated sanctions, there are a list of school offenses that a student may be charged with, that can qualify for a Juvenile Diversion Program. Case Planning/Case Management Diversion Program Pre-Plea: Receive cases from SRO Review incident report/school offense info Write up case plan Contact parent/juvenile to schedule orientation 3

4 Case Planning/Case Management Diversion Program Post Plea: Discuss rules/regulations for the next 90 days Give information about Dallas Challenge and/or Community Service Follow up weekly with the school and parents Case Planning/Case Management Municipal/Class C Citations Pre-Plea: Run weekly report and set for Juvenile Docket Discuss with Judge best plan of action Write up Family Case Plan Set up meeting with parent/guardian and juvenile Get plea and any other info Case Planning/Case Management Municipal/Class C Citations Post Plea: Send summons to the last reported address Juvenile must attend court with parent/guardian Judge makes final ruling on suggested program Juvenile will be set for a Juvenile Reappear date for the next available Juvenile docket 4
