REV. 553, (1933) Excerpt from KNAPP, CRYSTAL & PRINCE, PROBLEMS IN CONTRACT LAW: CASES & MATERIALS (5th ed. 2003) Restatement (Second) of Contracts 1-3 UCC 1-201(b)(3) & (12), * & 2-106(1) ** UETA 2(1) & (4) Optional Readings *** : Farnsworth, pp. 3-9 & Hillman, pp. 1-2 & B. App. Ct. 1995) * The American Law Institute (ALI) and National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Law (NCCUSL) revised UCC Article 1 in As of January 1, 2007, Revised Article 1 was in effect in twenty-two states (including Nevada). By the time you graduate law school, chances are good that the 2001 version of Article 1 will be widely in force and will be tested on whatever bar exam you take. With two notable exceptions, the substantive differences between the 2001 and pre-2001 Article 1 are minimal. So, unless I tell you otherwise, when I assign portions of UCC Article 1, I mean the 2001 version, found on Burton & Eisenberg, pp ** ALI and NCCUSL amended UCC Article 2 in Because no state has yet enacted the 2003 amendments, we will study pre-amended Article 2 (Burton & Eisenberg, pp ), unless I tell you otherwise. *** Recall that I listed two optional books in the syllabus (and the on-line book list): E. ALLAN FARNSWORTH, CONTRACTS (4th ed. 2004), and ROBERT A. HILLMAN, PRINCIPLES OF CONTRACT LAW (2004). I will try to indicate readings in both books that correspond to the assigned reading.
