1 A video contest (the Contest ) in conjunction with Teck s Copper Saves Lives Campaign will take place beginning on September 20, 2018 and continue through January 15, Terms & Conditions of Entry (the Official Rules ) 1. Eligibility: The Contest is only open to legal residents of all provinces and territories in Canada, excluding Quebec, and is void where prohibited by law. Employees of Teck Resources Limited ( Teck ), its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, (collectively the Employees ), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to participate in the Contest. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, territorial, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. 2. Agreement to Official Rules: By entering the Contest, the entrant ( Entrant or You ) agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Official Rules, and You represent and warrant that You meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, You agree to accept the decisions of Teck as final and binding as it relates to the content of this Contest. If You are under the age of majority in your home jurisdiction, then your parent, guardian or authorized teacher must agree on your behalf to be fully unconditionally bound by these Official Rules, represent and warrant that You meet the eligibility requirements and that You accept the decisions of Teck as final and binding as it relates to the content of the Contest. 3. Contest Period: Entries will be accepted online starting at 8:00 a.m. PDT on September 20, 2018 and ending January 15, 2019, 11:59 PST. 4. How to Enter: Create a digital video of 1-3 minutes duration demonstrating where in your community copper surfaces could help reduce the spread of infection and help keep people healthy and post the video on your publicly-accessible YouTube channel using the hashtag #CopperSavesLives. Entries that don t comply with YouTube's Terms of Service including section 12 of the Terms of Service, and YouTube Community Guidelines will be disqualified. Entrants under 13 years of age are not allowed to have their own personal YouTube channel. In this case, a consenting eligible

2 YouTube channel can be used. To submit an entry to the Contest, you must complete the online entry form at The online entry form requires that you provide your name, address, phone number, city, name of school and grade. You must also provide a link to your video submission on YouTube in the entry form in order to be entered in the Contest. All entries must be received no later than 11:59 pm PST on January 15, Incomplete or late entries will be disqualified. All entries must fulfill all Contest requirements, as specified above, to be eligible to win. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of Teck. The submission of the online entry form constitutes an "Entry". In the event of a dispute about the identity of an entrant, the name(s) identified on the online entry form will be deemed the Contest Entrant. Group work is permitted but the final video of the group can only be entered once. If You use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules, your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of Teck. 5. Winner Selection and Notification: Contest entries will be judged based on the technical quality of the video, the creativity of the proposed ideas, the feasibility of the proposed idea and the understanding of the students about how copper can help keep people healthy in schools, hospitals or other communitygathering place. A panel of judges, including Teck representatives and infection control specialists, will select the winning entry. To be declared the winner, a potential winner: (i) must be in compliance with these Official Rules; (ii) must sign and return (or, if the potential winner is a minor in their home jurisdiction, have his or her parent/guardian sign and return), within any designated time period, a release of liability and consent to publicity form and any other documentation as reasonably required;

3 (iii) may be required to provide proof of identification to confirm eligibility, or provide proof that he or she is the authorized account holder of any account associated with the selected entry. The winning entry will be announced on February 15, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. PST on Teck s Facebook page and on the website. Winners will also be notified by . Teck shall have no liability for the winner s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk or other security settings or for the winner s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to timely return a completed and executed waiver and release as required, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. 6. Prizes: Teck will collaborate with the winner of the Contest and relevant parties to install up to $50,000 worth of antimicrobial copper surfaces in the location(s) proposed in the winning video. The prize may be substituted by Teck, in whole or in part, with a prize or prize component of equal or greater value if the prize or prize component cannot be awarded for any reason. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by Teck. The prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be transferred or assigned, unless otherwise determined by Teck. The prize may not be exactly as advertised. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at Teck s discretion. Receipt by the winner of the prize offered in this Contest is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal, provincial, territorial and local laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY THE WINNER (AT TECK S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN WINNER S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE CONTEST, AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Teck to use the winner s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. 7. Odds: The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. A purchase does not increase the chances of winning. 8. Rights Clearance. By entering this Contest, You represent and warrant that:

4 (i) the video, including any associated material comprising your entry (all such material, collectively, the Entry Material ) is original work, solely created by the individual entrant or group, and that no third party participated as an author, co-author, photographer or otherwise in the creation of the work or any part thereof and that the work does not violate any third party s proprietary or intellectual property rights. You confirms that the Entry Materials complies with all local, provincial and national laws, including copyright. No copyrighted materials (music, images, etc.) may be used for this contest unless the You own the copyright or have a license to use the Entry Material for this Contest. Written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyrighted materials. If your Entry Material infringes upon the intellectual property right of another, You will be disqualified at the sole discretion of Teck; (ii) You have all necessary rights in and to your Entry Material to enter the Contest, including the consent of any third parties whose personal information is included in your Entry Material and You have obtained the necessary consents required under applicable privacy legislation from any individuals appearing in Your video submission, and (iii) Your Entry Material does not contain, depict, include or involve content that is, or could reasonably be considered to be, inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive, as determined by Teck. Teck assumes no responsibility for any claims of infringement of rights to copyright, privacy and/or personality, and all such liability shall remain with the Entrant. Teck reserves the right to exclude any work on the basis of concerns relating to the rights of third parties, including but not limited to privacy, copyright, defamation, rights of personality, obscenity or hate speech, as determined by Teck in its sole discretion. You hereby release and agree to save harmless Teck from any and all claims, damages, expenses and liabilities now or hereafter by reason of the use by You of any individuals likeness and/or voice in your Entry Material. If the content of your Entry Material is claimed to constitute infringement of any privacy,

5 proprietary or intellectual proprietary rights of any third party, You shall, at your sole expense, defend or settle against such claims. You shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Teck from and against any suit, proceeding, claims, liability, loss, damage, costs or expense, which Teck may incur, suffer, or be required to pay arising out of such infringement or suspected infringement of any third party s right. Ownership of the underlying intellectual property of the work remains with the Entrant. However, by submitting the Entry Materials to the Contest, Entrants grant Teck, anyone acting on behalf of Teck, and Teck s licensees, successors, and assigns, the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the world, without limitation, your Entry Materials, without notification of further compensation; and use, alter, modify or combine your Entry Materials with other media, text, graphics or audio recordings, without any further compensation, notice, review, or consent. You waive all claims of moral rights in any use of your Entry Materials pursuant to the rights granted in these Official Rules. If you are the winner, Teck may request you to appear in publicity related to the Contest and sign a consent to publicity from, which may include all or some of the following provisions: (i) you grant to Teck the irrevocable right to record, photograph or otherwise capture or document you, your likeness, your voice, or any statements you make regarding the Contest or the prize, by any available means; (ii) you agree that any such captured material, together with your biographical information, such as name or place of residence, or your Entry Materials (all such materials collectively the Publicity Material ) may be used by Teck or its licensees, successors, or assigns (collectively, the Publicity Parties ) in any media, whether now known or later devised, worldwide and in perpetuity, for advertising or promotional purposes related to the Contest or any similar contest. Any such use of

6 the Publicity Material may include the reproduction, modification, adaptation, translation or creation of derivative works from your Entry Materials; (iii) you acknowledge that the Publicity Parties shall not be required to compensate you, notify you, or request your permission in connection with their use of any Publicity Material, unless otherwise prohibited by law; and (iv) you waive any rights that you may have or that may otherwise exist in connection with any use of the Publicity Material by any of the Publicity Parties, including any moral rights in any such Publicity Material. The winner will not be obligated to appear in any publicity related to the Contest and Teck will only use the Publicity Material subject to, and to the extent consented to, by the winner. 9. Indemnification: By entering this Contest, You understand and agree that you release and forever discharge Teck, its affiliates, and subsidiaries, any other companies associated with the Contest, and all of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, licensees, successors and assigns, as well as any Third Party Services, (collectively, the Releasees ), and agree to indemnify and hold harmless each of the Releasees, from and against any and all claims, damages or liability, including any costs or losses related to personal injury, death, damage to or loss or destruction of property, arising out of, or in any way related to, (i) your participation in the Contest, (ii) the awarding, receipt, possession, use or misuse of any prize, in whole or in part, or any travel or activity related to any prize, (iii) the use of any Entry Material or Publicity Material (defined above) in accordance with the rights granted in these Official Rules, or (iv) any breach of these Official Rules. 9. Termination and Modification: Teck reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and/or the Official Rules in any way, at any time, for any reason without prior notice. Teck reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or website or violates these Official Rules. Teck has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the

7 Contest, to void entries for any reason, including, but not limited to: multiple entries of the same group video; or the use of bots, macros, scripts, or other technical means for entering. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such attempt be made, Teck reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. Teck is not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this Contest. 10. Limitation of Liability: By entering, You agree to release and hold harmless Teck and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) such entrant s participation in the Contest and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries. 11. Disputes: This Contest is governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada, without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Contest, participant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Vancouver, BC having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances shall a participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney s fees, other than participant s actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this Contest). Participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

8 12. Privacy Policy: Information submitted with an entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on the Teck website. 13. The Contest hosted by Teck is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with any social media platforms on which the Contest may have been promoted and/or publicized, including but not limited to YouTube and Facebook. 14. By checking here, You, the Participant, have affirmatively reviewed, accepted, and agreed to all of the Official Rules.
