2 Lost CITES permit / ecites 1. The exporter and, where applicable, the forwarding agent involved must explain in writing how and under what circumstances the CITES permit (indicate CITES number) was lost. 2. The FSVO checks this information and s the export company its approval for a replacement CITES export permit to be issued. The lost CITES permit is canceled. 3. The exporter makes a new export application using the same permit number and the same quantity. 4. At the beginning of the new application NO comment concerning replacement must be entered in the Reference field. 5. When inserting the item, the number of the lost CITES permit must be written under Remarks ( Bemerkungen ): 6. The application must be sent to the FSVO by clicking on Send (with covering letter) Senden (mit Begleitbrief). 7. The issuing office is ALWAYS the FSVO (i.e. no printing at the Chamber of Commerce). The CITES permit bears the remark replaces CITES no along with the CITES number 8. This replacement CITES permit CANNOT be stamped by Customs, because the goods have already left 9. No processing time priorities can be taken into account. 2/7

The exporter and the forwarding agent involved must explain in writing for the attention of the FSVO how and under what circumstances the CITES permit (indicate CITES number) was lost and that a replacement permit must be issued by the FSVO. 2. The FSVO checks this information and, subject to acceptance of the explanation, issues a replacement CITES export permit. The replacement CITES permit bears the remark replaces CITES no along with the CITES number. 3. The lost CITES permit is canceled. 4. This replacement CITES permit cannot be stamped by Customs, because the goods have already left 3/7

The exporter and/or the Customs/CITES authority in the country of destination must explain in writing what particulars in the CITES document concerned (indicate CITES number) are incorrect. 2. The FSVO checks this information and s the export company its approval for a replacement CITES export permit to be issued. In case the original incorrect CITES document has not been collected by the authority of the country of destination it must be sent back to the FSVO for cancellation. 3. The export company makes a new export application using the same quantity and if possible the same number of passavant (Passierschein), if this permit was modified beforehand by the FSVO. Otherwise another permit must be used with the correct details. 4. At the beginning of the new application NO comment concerning replacement must be entered in the Reference ( Referenz ) field. 5. When inserting the item, the number of the incorrect CITES permit must be entered under Remarks ( Bemerkungen ): 6. The exporter and/or the Customs/CITES authority in the country of destination must explain in writing for the attention of the FSVO what particulars in the CITES document concerned (indicate CITES number) are incorrect. 2. The FSVO checks this information and, subject to acceptance of the explanation, issues a replacement CITES export permit. The replacement CITES permit bears the remark replaces CITES no along with the CITES number.. 3. In case the original incorrect CITES document has not been collected by the authority of the country of destination it must be sent back to the FSVO for cancellation. 4. 6 Consignment without CITES permit (no CITES permit) / ecites If the species conservation authority in the country of destination is prepared to accept a retrospective CITES permit, the FSVO may issue a retrospective CITES permit. The following procedure must be observed to obtain a retrospectively issued document: 1. The export company must explain in writing why the consignment left Switzerland without a valid CITES export permit. 2. The FSVO checks this information and s the export company its approval for a retrospective CITES export permit to be issued. 3. The export company makes the relevant application for an export permit in ecites. 4. At the beginning of the new application NO comment concerning a retrospectively issued permit may be entered in the Reference ( Referenz ) field. 5. When entering the item, the words retrospectively issued must be entered under Remarks ( Bemerkungen ): 6. The application must be sent to the FSVO by clicking on Send (with covering letter) Senden (mit Begleitbrief). 7. The issuing office is ALWAYS the FSVO (i.e. no printing at the Chamber of Commerce). The CITES permit bears the remark retrospectively issued along with the CITES number. 8. This retrospective CITES permit cannot be stamped by Customs, because the goods have already left 9. 7 Consignment without CITES permit (no CITES permit) / special case (application in hard copy) If the species conservation authority in the country of destination is prepared to accept a retrospective CITES permit, the FSVO may issue a retrospective CITES permit. The following procedure must be observed to obtain a retrospectively issued document: 1. The exporter must explain in writing why the consignment left Switzerland without a valid CITES export permit. 2. The FSVO checks this information and, subject to acceptance of the explanation, issues a retrospective CITES export permit.
