1 Michigan Farm Worker Ministry Coalition Collection, Part 1 Papers, linear feet 26 storage boxes Accession # 895 DALNET # OCLC # Part 1 of the Michigan Farm Worker Ministry Coalition came into being in 1978 under the leadership of Sr. Theresa Grekowicz. The immediate successor to the Michigan Farm Worker Ministry and the Michigan Migrant Ministry, the MFWMC aimed to assist farm workers in organizing for better wages and working conditions, as well as to improve farm worker access to health coverage and education. Like its predecessor organizations, the MFWMC carried on a working relationship with the Michigan Council of Churches and the National Farm Worker Ministry. Many of the later papers of the Michigan Migrant Ministry, formed in 1940, are included in this collection as well as papers pertaining to its Harvester, Worker Friend, Adopt-a-Camp, and Emergency Food programs. The records of the Michigan Farm Worker Ministry Coalition consist of correspondence, reports, minutes, publications, research studies and other material documenting migrant agricultural labor in Michigan and the United States. PLEASE NOTE: Folders are computer-arranged alphabetically in this finding aid, but may actually be dispersed throughout several boxes in the collection.
