Upon Immigration and Customs clearance, board a taxi from the arrival hall to the Official Hotel. VERY IMPORTANT All competitors must apply for the International License through their Federations. Those without the license will not be allowed to compete.

2 6. REGISTRATION FEES Competitor registration fees will be charged to the member federation by UIAA Climbing. 7. PRIZES According to ICC standards. 8. OFFICIAL HOTEL (change of venue) Copthorne Orchid Hotel. Please see Special room rates offered to our participants and officials as follows: Single/Double Occupancy - S$115 net inclusive of breakfast per room per night. Published rate is at S$ exclude breakfast. Participants are advised to make an early reservation with our official hotel. Please submit the attached booking form to enjoy the special rate. All incidental expenses incurred during the stay would be paid to the hotel directly by the participants at the time of check out. Accommodation is guaranteed for reservations received on or before 5th July Thereafter, the room availability will be made on a first-come-first-served basis. All hotel rates are on per night basis. The usual check-in time is 2pm and check-out time is 12pm noon. For late night or early morning check-in, the room reservation would need to be from the previous day to ensure immediate availability on arrival.

3 9. COMPETITION VENUE The event will be held indoor at Hall 5b of the Singapore Expo (air conditioned). The venue is about 10mins drive from the airport and 30mins drive to downtown and is served by adequate public transport like buses, trains and others. 10. TECHNICAL MEETING The Technical Meeting will be held on Thu, 3 August at 7pm at SAFRA Yishun and Country Club followed by a Welcome Dinner. 11. SPECIAL TRANSFER ARRANGEMENTS The SMF together with the Malaysia Mountaineering Federation (PMM) have made the following travel arrangements to facilitate our participants who will be competing in both the Singapore and Malaysia circuit: Tuesday, 8 August hrs 1045hrs 1300hrs Depart Singapore to Kuala Lumpur (375km) via coach Immigration and Customs formalities. Please refer to for visa entry requirements into Malaysia. Lunch in Malacca (Malaysia historical state).

6 1600hrs Estimated arrivals in Kuala Lumpur/ Check-In Hotel. Programme in Malaysia will be send separately by the Malaysia Mountaineering Federation (PMM) A fee of Sin$80 per person is chargeable for the above transfer. Please let us know if you require the transfer and number of persons. We suggest that you fly-off from Kuala Lumpur after the Malaysia Circuit. However, if you re leaving from Singapore, please observe the visa requirements back to Singapore. 13. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT SINGAPORE About the Country Singapore is a vibrant, multicultural, sophisticated city-state where tradition and modernity, East and West, meet in a comfortable companionship, harmoniously... and with imagination! Language English is one of the four official languages and is therefore widely spoken and understood. Religion Multi-racial Singapore is a mixture of religions. The main religions are Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Silkhism, Judaism and Zoroastrianism. Climate Singapore s climate tropical, warm and humid, with only slight variations between the average maximum of 31 degrees Celsius and minimum of 23 degrees Celsius. Clothing Light and summer clothing is best for everyday wear. Casual dress is accepted for most situations and occasions but some establishment may require a more formal dress code. It is always advisable to check beforehand on dress regulations. Currency Our currency comes in Dollars and Cents. The rate of exchange (subject to currency fluctuations) is approximately: S$2.60 = 1 Sterling Pound S$1.80 = US$1.00 Banks throughout Singapore generally operate from 9.30am to 3.30pm, from Mondays to Fridays, and from 9.30am to 11.30am on Saturdays for travelers' cheques transactions and other financial matters. For greater convenience, Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) are conveniently located at banks and most shopping centres and are opened round-the-clock. Keep a lookout for these machines displaying Plus and Cirrus signs. You can exchange currency at all

7 banks, hotels, and wherever the sign "Licensed Money Changer" is displayed. Major credit cards (Visa, Master, Amex, Diners and JCB) are widely accepted in most restaurants, shops and hotels. Visa Requirement Delegates holding travel documents issued by the following countries will require a visa to enter Singapore: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh (Except Diplomatic/Official passport holders), Commonwealth of Independent States* (Except Diplomatic/Official/Service passport holders for a stay of up to 30 days), Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Egypt, India (Except Diplomatic/Official passport holders), Iran, Iraq, Jordan (Except Diplomatic/Official passport holders), Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Myanmar (Except Diplomatic/Official passport holders), People's Republic of China (Except Diplomatic/Service/Public Affairs passport holders for a stay of up to 30 days), Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia (Except Diplomatic/Official passport holders) and Yemen. In addition, visitors holding Hong Kong Document of Identity, Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Travel Permit, Palestinian Authority Passport, Refugee Travel Document issued by the Middle-East countries and Temporary Passport issued by United Arab Emirates will also require a visa to enter Singapore. More information, please log on to Transportation Taxis are very reasonably priced, they have a minimum charge of S$2.40 and are metered. The buses are very efficient and operate from 6am to 12am midnight. Exact bus fares are required, ranging from S$0.80 and S$1.50. Alternatively, you may wish to try the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit). The trains operate from 5.30am to 12.30am. Fares range from S$0.80 to S$1.80. Each station provides coin-operated ticket dispensers for single trips. Stored value passes (ez-link cards) for multiple trips can also be bought at most stations and are valid for usage on buses too. Shopping In department stores, all items are price-tagged and prices are fixed. Many small retailers are often flexible when approached for a discount. A good number of department stores and some smaller shops are opened daily from 10am to about 9pm, or even 10pm. Visit the Mustafa Centre in Little India, the only department store in Singapore that is open 24 hours, everyday! Goods and Services Tax (GST) A 5% GST is levied in Singapore. As a foreign visitor, you are entitled to claim back the GST that you pay on your purchases before departure at the Singapore Changi Airport - after Immigration check-in area, Terminal 1 & 2, 24 hours daily. Tipping Tipping is prohibited at the airport and discouraged at hotels and restaurants where there is a 10% service charge. Smoking Smoking is prohibited in public areas, e.g. lifts, theatres, cinemas, air-conditioned restaurants and shopping malls, government offices, and on public transport. It is permissible at some pubs, discos and lounges.

8 Water Drinking water is safe and portable. It is therefore safe to drink directly from the tap. Electricity Singapore voltage is volts AC, 50 cycles per second. Upon request, hotels will provide adapters to visitors with electrical appliances of a different plug in pins (subjected to availability and on first come first serve basis). When shopping for electrical appliances, do remember to check the voltage of the item against the acceptable voltage in your home country.

11 ROCK ON (Special Edition) - Fastest Speed Climber Organized by Singapore Mountaineering Federation, SAFRA National Service Association and the Singapore Sports Council in conjunction with the Singapore World Cup Circuit. We would like to extend invitation to all climbers to participate in the above competition, ROCK ON. Please find the registration form for Rock On Special Edition - World's Fastest Climber. The content of the form is detailed with rules and admin information. Prizes: Champion 800 euros and 600 euros for 2 nd placing.

REPORTING ON COMPETITION DAY All participants must report at the designated time on the day of competition (details in competitors information sheet). Participants who failed to report within the designated time will not be allowed to join in the competition. Registration fees collected will not be refunded for failure to report at the designated time or no-show by the participant. PRIZES Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 winners. 1 st : EURO 800 (cash) 2 nd : EURO 600 (cash) COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS JUDGING The fastest participant wins. All participants will have one attempt to for the qualifying round; the fastest 32 will proceed to the semi finals & the fastest 16 will proceed to the finals (knock-out system). A participant will be disqualified if: a) Late for the isolation zone reporting; b) Fails to return to the isolation after observing the route; c) Un-ropes while climbing; d) Uses unapproved modification of equipment In the case of a false start, the Judge shall stop both competitors immediately. Any participant committing two false starts in the same heat shall be disqualified. Following each demonstrated route is an observation period. The length of the observation period shall normally be 4 minutes. Participants are allowed to touch the first hold(s), without leaving the ground with both their feet. APPEAL All appeals have to be made in writing within 30 minutes after the result and it will be handled by an appeals panel. A charge of SGD 50 (cash) will be levied to discourage abuse of the right. The money will be refunded upon successful appeal.
