PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES Boston University Pardee School Initiative on Forced Migration and Human Trafficking Affiliated Faculty Member (2015 to present) Description: The Initiative brings together students, scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to support research, education, and advocacy on the pressing issues of forced migration and human trafficking. Civil Legal Aid to Victims of Crime (CLAVC) Advisory Committee Advisory Committee Member (January 2017 to present) Description: The Committee meets regularly to monitor the implementation of a new, groundbreaking initiative funded by the Massachusetts Office for Victims of Crime to train over 25 attorneys to represent victims of crime in legal services organizations across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Committee provides advice about implementation of the program and identifies ongoing unmet legal needs. Massachusetts Child Welfare Trafficking Grant Leadership Advisory Board Leadership Advisory Board Member (July 2015 to present) Description: The Board provides guidance and support to recipients of a five-year federal grant in Massachusetts to increase collaboration between the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families and county-based Children Advocacy Center. The grant seeks to establish and strengthen Multi-Disciplinary Teams in Suffolk, Hampden, Bristol, and Barnstable/Dukes Counties. Immigration Coalition at Massachusetts Law Reform Institute Founder and Chair of U/T Visa Working Group (September 2011 to present) Description: The Working Group is comprised of experienced immigration legal services providers that meet bi-monthly to develop more effective advocacy strategies to support victims of violent crime. 4 Immigration Subcommittee of the Boston Bar Association Co-Chair of Public Service Subcommittee (September 2014 to 2016) Description: The Subcommittee organizes educational programing for the Boston bar to promote pro bono involvement to represent indigent noncitizens. Delivery of Legal Services Subcommittee of the Boston Bar Association Member of the Human Trafficking Subcommittee (2014 to present) Description: The Subcommittee seeks to raise awareness about legal issues related to human trafficking in Greater Boston and promote greater identification and access to legal services for survivors. Massachusetts Human Trafficking Task Force Member and Co-Chair of Victim Services Subcommittee (February 2012 to 2014) Description: Appointed to the Task Force by Governor Deval Patrick. The Task Force is a commission chaired by former Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley to study the implementation of new human trafficking.
