1 Turkey Syria: Cross-Border Humanitarian Reach and Activities from Turkey Activities Analysis People numbers reported are for only. CCCM has coordinated the provision of lifesaving multi-sectoral response to 339,9 IDPs living in 341 informal settlements in. In the beginning of, an agreement was between Russian, Turkey and Iran to establish four de-escalation zones in Syria. These areas are Idleb governorate (including adjacent parts of Lattakia, Aleppo and Hama governorates that are under the control of non-state armed groups), Northern Rural Homs, Eastern Ghouta and NSAG-held areas in Dar a and Qunaitera governorates. The agreement came following months of heavy fighting and escalation between GoS forces and NSAGs, and resulted in a significant reduction of airstrikes and shelling in northwestern Syria and northern rural Homs. However, hostilities in southern Syria continued, albeit at lower levels. cluster provided children and adolescents with regular self-learning materials and digital learining materials, provision/ rehabilitation of water and sanitation facilities in TLS/ schools, Rehabilitation of learning centres, incentives/allowances for teaching staff, non formal education (NFE), professional development to teaching staff (active learning, self-learning, life skills), textbooks, life skills based trainings, basic education materials, psychological support and recreational activities, provision of fuel for heating in learning centers and teaching kits, develop & strengthen M&E capacities of education actors, early childhood education (ECE) / early childhood development (ECD) and awareness raising campaigns. In a total of 979,8 beneficiaries were with food baskets (in kind, cash and voucher); additionally 298,7 beneficiaries with emergency food rations, mixed food items and other food commodities. Furthermore, 898,729 beneficiaries were assisted through bread/flour distribution. FSL cluster 104,275 beneficiaries with agriculture & livelihood activities which are agricultural inputs, animal distribution, backyard support, income generation activities and rehabilitation of infrastructures. Further in the month of May, inter-factional tension and fighting in Eastern Ghouta continued to hinder humanitarian activities and civilian movement. Reports of civilians and humanitarians being harassed or tortured at checkpoints of the warring parties were received by OCHA. Due to the deteriorating security situation, some NGOs had to suspend operations in the besieged enclave. In the nearby Barzeh and Qaboun neighbourhoods, an agreement was to evacuate fighters and civilians to Northern Syria. By the end of May, more than 10,000 were evacuated from these two neighbourhoods to Idleb governorate. In parallel, more than 10,000 from Al-Waer neighbourhood were evacuated to Idleb, Euphrates Shield areas and Northern rural Homs during the month of May. In the eastern region, the Syrian Democratic Forces continued their offensive against ISIL in Ar-Raqqa governorate. The month of May registered the highest number of IDPs as a result of the fighting with more than 100,000 being displaced according to the Camp Coordination and Camp Management Cluster. In northwestern Syria, competition over service provision between HTS and Ahrar Al-Sham continued especially in the areas of electricity and purchasing wheat from the farmers.
