EARTAGS AND IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS Identification number Cattle are tagged with unique identification numbers from the following systems: - regular id numbers (all animals tagged after 2001); - old selection id numbers - old veterinary id numbers - imported id numbers Description: Regular id numbers: SI + 8-digit code. The last 7 digits are a running number. The first digit is a check digit. All animals tagged after 2001 are tagged with the regular id number. As of January 2004, 70 % of population is tagged by this id. 7 Old selection id numbers: SI + 7-digit code or SI + 6-digit code. A running number. Current population: 27 % of population, animals born before Old veterinary id numbers: SI +8-digit alphanumeric code. Current population: 3000 animals, The holding register (RGG) shall contain the following data: 1. About the holding: - Holding id (KMG-MID), the name and surname or business name, the address of the keeper, and the address of the holding (if different); 2. About each bovine animal on the holding: - identification number of the animal, date of birth, breed and sex, - identification number of the Dam; in the case of a transplanted embryo, also the id of the biological mother, - identification number of the Sire if known, - date of arrival of the bovine animal on the holding and KMG-MID of the holding of origin or the name and surname or business name and address of the previous keeper of the bovine animal, - date of departure of the bovine animal from the holding and KMG-MID or name and surname or business name and address of the new keeper of the bovine animal or date of death, if the bovine animal has been destroyed or slaughtered of necessity on the holding; 3. About on-the-spot control: - name, surname and signature of the inspector who performed the control, - date of the control. The keeper must retain the RGG at the location at which the bovine animal is kept or in a manner that the RGG is practically accessible from that location. The RGG may be kept in written or computer form. Data must be retained for at least three years from the day when the last bovine animal leaves the holding.
