American Bikers Aimed Toward Education is a not-for-profit corporation formed to promote and protect the interests of New York State motorcyclists. November 08, 2015 Chapter Meeting Called to order: 12:32 pm Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call: President, Sgt. At Arms, Leg. Assistant, Newsletter/Secretary President Report: Nothing at this time. VP Report: absent Secretary/ Newsletter: Nothing at this time. Treasurer Report: No bank statement/no report at this time. Leg. Assistant Report: Check out the state newsletter and website, lots of information to see. Jerry inquired about maybe getting some watch for motorcycles (or similar) signs for the road near the meeting hall. Jonesy will look into this. Membership Report: 160 members. Products Report: If you want to order something, see Jerry. WB asked Jerry to look into different koozies. Sgt. At Arms Report: Nothing at this time. Road Captain Report: Nothing at this time. Old Business: Halloween Party...Christmas Party is Dec. 19-Tony would like to change the date, we will keep our date. December 13, 2015 Chapter Meeting Called to order: 12;33 pm Pledge of Allegiance Motion to waive the reading of the last meeting minutes; 1st-Miles 2nd WB Roll Call: President/VP/Secretary/News/Sgt. At Arms/Leg. Assistant President Report: If anyone is interested in a NRA membership, see Jerry ($20) VP Report: New Tri-folds (there is not a spot on it to add our address, so if you want you can fill it out and give it to Jerry and he will send it to the state. Christmas party food sign-up sheet. Leg. Assistant Report: Same old stuff...spoke about what Ben Rabin discussed re-introducing the bill to protect motorcycles, pedestrians, bicyclists, etc.. Jonesy looked into signage for the Loop area, you must show a need for it and must come from local authorities (he will look into it further) Maybe it will help that we are motorcycle safety organization?? Jerry offered to chair a committee (hopefully with Jonesy s help) Possibly get a sponsor (a local legislator??) Possibly a speed reduction sign?? First committee meeting will be January 05. 2016 after the Officer meeting. Next committee meeting will be January 12, 2016 after the chapter meeting. Treasurers Report: October report: Motion to accept: 1st Terry 2nd-Logan (Accepted) November report: Motion to accept 1st-Miles 2nd-Kim (Accepted) Products Report: Products are selling pretty good. We still have some hoodies and we have doo rags-still looking into koozies and some other products. Membership Report: 186 members. Secretary/Newsletter Report: Some discussion regarding some people are not happy that they no longer get a newsletterdiscussion tabled until the Officer meeting. Sgt. At Arms Report: Asking for volunteers to come early to the Christmas party to set up...see Popcorn. Road Captain Report: Need names of assistants. Website Report: Everything is current. Old Business: Christmas party: we will set aside some money for the jukebox. Our region C officer, Ed Thomas has passed away and at the request of the family is to make a donation to one of his charities in his name. Jerry donated $75.00 to the SPCA and a sympathy card was delivered at the calling hours and we received a thank you from his wife, Dana. New Business: Super Swap is February 13 & 14 so we are going to change the Officer/Chapter meetings. Officer meeting will be on February 2nd and the Chapter meeting will be February 7th. The State meeting is February 20th and we will be voting on some bi-law changes. Don Richer will send information regarding these changes to Jerry so we can decide how we would like to vote. State meeting location is to be determined and once it is determined, it cannot be changed for one year. The state would like us to let them know what charity we would like to support. At the Officer meeting we decided on Wounded Warriors. State elections were held and the results are as follows: President: Mike Giarrusso VP: Pete Campanella Treasurer: Tammy Ware Secretary: Prospector Sgt. At Arms: Andy Liuzzi Legislative: Don Richer PR: Rima Cerrone. Region A: Jody Ferrara B: Scott Ryan C: Tom Alton D: Franklin Crew E: John Tichy. Jerry is going to talk to Tom Alton regarding the horseshoe tourney...the last couple of years it falls on the same day as our Chapter meeting. Maybe he can get a better date. Jerry made a $50.00 donation to the Marine Corps/Toys for Tots in ABATE of Onondaga s name. Jerry said Prospector wants to get some patches to help support families of persons killed in Waco. Our chapter will have 10 to sell. Logan wanted to thank everyone for allowing him to be the Road Captain this past year and to thank everyone who helped through out the year.
