It is hard to believe, but another car show season is ended! I must admit, my Thunderbirds, all three of them, spent more time in the garage, out of the rain, than they did outside. My wife was complaining that I did not take her out for ice cream, or even for a run down the shore. The weather was terrible this Spring, Summer and even into the Fall, so most shows either where cancelled or went on in the rain. So, since we have not really been out and about as a club this year, we have a couple events coming up before we close out the year; Saturday, November 3 rd is Diner Day @ the Boyertown Museum from 10 am to 1 pm. Tour the museum and enjoy pie and coffee at vintage prices in the Boyertown Museum s 1938 Diner. We will be meeting at the museum at 10 am to enjoy the event together. Come out and join in the fun! Sunday, December 9 th is our annual Christmas Party at Iron Lakes Country Club. The party starts at 1:00 pm. Look for the reservation form in the October THUNDERWORD and in this November edition too! Remember, our upcoming November General Meeting on November 6 th will be at: The Palace Restaurant 3250 Easton Avenue Bethlehem, PA 18020 Finally, we need some members to serve on the Club s Board of Directors. It is not hard, not political, but can be fattening as we always seem to be eating at all the meetings. The position is a lot of fun as we plan activities for the upcoming year, co-ordinate the annual Nazareth Day Car Show, work in the community on different events and charities and interact with sister Thunderbird Clubs at various functions and let s not forget we eat too! Okay, that is the extent of me talking. I hope to see you at the Diner AND the Christmas Party! Have a Great Thanksgiving Holiday, Vince stephenr414@gmail.com

How to Prevent a Fire in the Garage Here are the top garage fire safety tips you need: Store a fire extinguisher on the garage wall, within easy reach, and know how to use it Exercise caution around heat sources like wood burning stoves Don t overload circuits in the garage by using multiple power tools at once Keep the garage door open when using combustibles such as varnish or spray paint Store combustible fluids in locked cabinet away from heat sources. Each substance should be in its own sealed, clearly labelled container Sweep the floor regularly to remove sawdust and debris, and dispose of the refuse as soon as you re done Rinse and dispose of oily rags to prevent combustion; do not launder them Unplug and properly store heat producing tools after use Make sure there is a smoke alarm in the garage and replace the batteries regularly

It was so nice to meet the Lehigh Valley Thunderbird club last evening. Thank you so much for your generous donation of $725.00. If you decide to select PCFLV as your charity for next year's event, please reach out to me prior to the event so that I can promote it on our social media. We have over 6,000 followers on our Facebook page, and they are very engaged in what we do and what others do for us. Also, I loved the questions that were posed to me last night. I hope everyone learned a bit about PCFLV and pediatric cancer in general. Again, thank you!!
