2. OPENING OF THE MEETING Mayor Clarke opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Clarke attended the Bayshore Village Canada Day celebrations along with M.P. Bruce Stanton and M.P.P. Jill Dunlop. Councillor Johnson attended the Lagoon City Boat Parade on Canada Day. CAO Janice McKinnon provided an update on the grass fire that was started by lightening on Friday, July 6, 2018 in the area of Concession Road 3 and Sideroad 5. The fire grew rapidly due to high winds. Bombers were called in along with Rama, Brock and Kawartha Lakes Fire Departments. Crews remain on scene and expect to be there all week dousing hot spots. 3. RESOLUTION NUMBER CR313.18 MOVED BY: SHARPE WHEREAS the residents of Lagoon City have indicated, they wish the Township to implement a Noise Bylaw; AND WHEREAS Council has reviewed a draft noise bylaw submitted by the Short Term Rental Ad Hoc Committee; AND WHEREAS Council has made several amendments including restricting same to Lagoon City only; AND WHEREAS it has come to Council s attention that other areas of the Township may wish to be included in the noise bylaw; NOW THEREFORE be it resolved that Council hold a public meeting to allow the residents of Ramara Township to submit oral or written submissions in support of, or opposition to, the proposed noise bylaw in other Township residential areas not including Lagoon City. 7. Some initiatives that the Township can take on include advocating the province; expanding trails to connect communities; affordable housing; attract quality jobs; and to consider poverty in local planning.
