St. Marys Area School District Board of School Directors Organization and Regular Meeting December 6, 2016, 7:00 PM Library, St. Marys Area High School Minutes The St. Marys Area Board of School Directors held their organization and regular meeting December 6, 2016 at 7:00 PM in the Library of the St. Marys Area High School. The meeting was called to order by President Dr. Clythera Hornung. Pledge of Allegiance Directors Present: Danielle Abrahamson, Kathryn Blake, Bryan Chiappelli (by phone), James Condon, Dr. Clythera Hornung, Stacy McKee, Eric Wonderling, Jerry Zimmerman. Members Absent: Robert Sorg. Others Present: Dr. G. Brian Toth, Ginger Williams, Robin Johnson, Warren Beck, Noel Petrosky, Dan Vollmer, Christine Kuhar, Julie Boyer, Karen Lucanik, Terry Straub, Mark Romain, Dan Elder, Mike Belovesick, Aaron Simbeck, Attorney Richard Brown, a representative from The Daily Press and The Courier-Express and two (2) visitors. Election of Temporary President Nominations from the Floor Eric Wonderling nominated Stacy McKee. Motion to Close Nominations Eric Wonderling motioned to close nominations. Motion by Eric Wonderling, seconded by Jerry Zimmerman, voting yes: Danielle Abrahamson, Kathryn Approved designation of The Daily Press, St. Marys, Pennsylvania, as the newspaper of general circulation to serve as the publication entity for district notices. Motion by Stacy McKee, seconded by Kathryn Blake, voting yes: Danielle Abrahamson, Kathryn Blake, Bryan Chiappelli, James Condon, Dr. Clythera Hornung, Stacy McKee, Eric Wonderling, Jerry Zimmerman -- motion carried. Superintendent Comments The minutes of the workshop meeting on November 8, 2016 and the regular meeting held on November 14, 2016 were approved. Motion by Eric Wonderling, seconded by Kathryn Blake motion carried by a voice vote of all members present. The treasurer s report for November 2016 was approved. Motion by Danielle Abrahamson, seconded by Eric Wonderling motion carried by a voice vote of all members present. Approved payment of the following bills. General Fund December 2016 and office checks for November 2016 Food Service Fund December 2016 Athletic Fund Office Checks for November 2016 Payroll Wire Fund November 2016 Payroll Fund November 2016 Motion by Danielle Abrahamson, seconded by Stacy McKee, voting yes: Danielle Abrahamson, Kathryn Board Procedures Board Policy Motion by board president to combine 1 & 2 under Board Policy as one vote. Approved new Policy #827, Conflict of Interest. (Attachment No. 1) Approved a revised Policy #609, Investment of District Funds. Resolution to Stay Within Index Approved a resolution indicating there will be no increase in the rate of real estate tax for the 2017-2018 school year by more than the index amount of 3.2% set by the Department of Education for the St. Marys Area School District. (Attachment No. 9) Motion by Stacy McKee, seconded by Danielle Abrahamson, voting yes: Danielle Abrahamson, Kathryn General School Affairs Support Organizations (For Information Only) The St. Marys Gymnastics Booster Club has submitted necessary information for the 2016-2017 school year as required under Policy No. 915. (Attachment No. 10) Transportation School Vehicle Driver Approved the following school vehicle driver: Debra Anderson, Muccio School Transportation, LLC Motion by Jerry Zimmerman, seconded by Eric Wonderling, voting yes: Danielle Abrahamson, Kathryn Student Activities Student Clubs Approved St. Marys Area High School clubs, club advisers and officers for the 2016-2017 school year as presented in Attachment No. 11. Motion by Stacy McKee, seconded by Kathryn Blake, voting yes: Danielle Abrahamson, Kathryn Blake, Bryan Chiappelli, James Condon, Dr. Clythera Hornung, Stacy McKee, Eric Wonderling, Jerry Zimmerman -- motion carried. Motion by Board President to combine B&C under Student Activities as one vote. Field Trips Approved six (6) students and one (1) chaperone to attend the PMEA District Chorus in Bradford, PA from January 11, 2017 through January 13, 2017. Approved a budget for Jr. High Baseball and Jr. High Softball. Two (2) Coaches paid $500.00 each (same as Jr. High Soccer and Volleyball) per sport Transportation - $1,500.00 per sport Officials - $500.00 per sport Equipment (start-up) - $1,800.00 per sport (bats/helmets/catcher s equipment/equipment bags) Balls (annual) - $350.00 per sport Hats/Visors - $375.00 per sport Socks - $80.00 per sport Total: First Year - $5,605.00 per sport

Informational Items: Two (2) Double-Headers (Five (5) innings per Game) per week/five (5) weeks Jerseys (shirts)/pants player purchase (at least for the first year three (3) years) Season mid-march mid-may One Team (combined 7 th /8 th Grade; maximum twenty (20) players) per sport Baseball Club sport, but school sponsored no other Interscholastic programs Softball Interscholastic program Buildings and Grounds Use of Facility Approval Approved PSU Softball Little League to utilize the St. Marys Area Middle School Gymnasium from 9:00AM until 6:00PM on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Approval was given for the Sinibaldi Christmas Concert Musicians to utilize the St. Marys Area High School Auditorium for their annual Christmas Concert from 10:00AM until 4:00PM on Sunday, December 18, 2016. Motion by Danielle Abrahamson, seconded by Jerry Zimmerman, voting yes: Danielle Abrahamson, Kathryn Blake, Bryan Chiappelli, James Condon, Dr. Clythera Hornung, Stacy McKee, Eric Wonderling, Jerry Personnel The following personnel actions were approved as listed. All employment approvals are provisional for thirty days pending receipt of Act 151 clearance documentation. Motion by Board President to combine all sections under Personnel as one vote.
