This common set is applicable to all diseases. For selected priority diseases or disease groups enhanced surveillance is needed: an additional set of variables that enables a higher level of analysis to be carried out 11

EEA: AirBase Annual, 32 stations across Europe Airbase contains a large amount of data including calculated statistics on Europe s air quality over the last decade Information on more than 100 air pollutants. Eleven of these are regulated by EU air quality legislation. Includes real-time updates Over the last decade, the situation has improved substantially in terms of exposure to several pollutants. But the pollutants which have seen the most significant reductions are not the ones causing most harm to human health and the environment 13
