The bill was first introduced in the Senate on August 1, 2001, Senators Dick Durbin and Orrin Hatch and has since been reintroduced several times but has failed to pass.
Supreme Court Ruling January 2016 - Deadlock Due to a federal court order, US Citizenship and Immigrant Services will not begin accepting requests for the expansion of DACA on February 18 as originally planned. The court's temporary injunction, issued February 16, does not affect the existing DACA.
