Officer Reports: President Rina Dang (huongdang0612@gmail.com) Welcomed everyone to the meeting Stated purpose of SGA o SGA is a vessel for communication with and among student organizations Representatives of organizations can hear information and take this information back to their members Representatives are also able to share information about RSO events they are hosting o SGA provides opportunities to share concerns with the administration Not a place to share individual concerns or personal issues Open for larger issues that pertain to the majority of the student body o At-Large Members, are part of the Student Body, but are not representing an organization o Currently searching for a Greenspoint SGA Representative o SGA meetings will run approximately 45 minutes to an hour Vice President Belten Langmia (blangmia@my.lonestar.edu) Budget currently $14,308 Communities in School are present to help students with any needs regarding the services provided Secretary Mumin Brown (mumin.brown@gmail.com) Let everyone know about the Roll Call procedures o In order to be counted present, each RSO must be present for opening and closing Roll Call Club Announcements o Announcements are made toward the end of the meeting o Club announcement forms are located at the back of the room, forms must be filled out and brought to the designated table near the front of the room Parliamentarian Aderonke Ayokanmbi (debbyluv9@yahoo.com) The meetings will run according to Robert Rules of Order o No side talks, raise your hand to be addressed o Rules are on the back of RSO name cards

Last year was two; this year four are required Four Dates for Risk Management Training o Greenspoint Center Wednesday, October 4 1:30-2:30 p.m. GC 306 o Victory Center Thursday, October 5 1:30-2:30 p.m. VC 102 o North Harris Monday & Tuesday, October 9 & 10 4-6 p.m. SC 200 Funding o RSO President and Advisor Agreements and RSO Annual Registration due Friday, September 30 for $200 base funds o Dan distributed and discussed RSO funding model. RSO Roster Form due on November 15 Fall LEAD Retreat October 27-28 at Camp Allen near Navasota o Registration open until spaces fill, so let everyone know to apply quickly o Two day overnight (Friday-Saturday) o Sign up at Dan s Office, registration and $25 deposit are required o Someone asked about the meeting agenda Dan said they are in the back of the room on the table o Dan said the retreat is not mandatory Faculty Advisor Shae Adkins (shae.j.adkins@lonestar.edu) Late start classes are available

o 12-week classes that start on the September 25 o 8-week classes that start on October 23 Old Business: No old business because this is the first meeting of the 2017-18 school year New Business: Elections for the SFAC Committee o President Rina spoke about the purpose of the committee o President asked is there a motion to open the floor for election Women s Volleyball moved to motion the election for the SFAC Committee FASLI seconded the motion, motion was passed o Staff Advisor Dan explained SFAC and why we need people for the committee o Parliamentarian Aderonke writes the three names on board of nominees Catherine; Demetria; and Jacqueline Rudison o Staff Advisor Dan moved to close the nomination because there were only three nominees for only three positions He was seconded by Pride Alliance No discussion, we moved to the vote, and the motion was passed Elections for the Emerging Clubs Committee o President Rina said we move on to elections for Emerging Clubs Committee o President explained the purpose and requirements of the committee Women s Volleyball moved to motion the election for the Emerging Clubs Committee Choir Club seconded the motion President asked all in favor, answer was yes, motion was passed o Staff Advisor Dan explained what Emerging Clubs Committee is There was a question about only meeting two times a year Staff Advisor Dan explained only a couple meets a year would be needed o Samantha Hurt, Dominique Cunningham, and Jackie Morua nominated themselves for the positions o Staff Advisor Dan moved to close the nomination, Pride Alliance seconded the motion There was no discussion, moved to voting No abstentions and the motion was passed Elections for Ethics Committee o Staff Advisor Dan said for the sake of time suspend the rule for Ethics Committee voting and move it to next meeting Campus Concerns, Questions, and Compliments: Someone asked about the parking lot situation and mentioned that it is hard to find parking
