Atlanta Bar Association Website User s Guide Welcome to the new Atlanta Bar website! The Atlanta Bar Association is excited to launch our new website with added features and benefits for members. The new platform contains easier access to information and resources, upgraded Section groups and directories, and a customizeable calendar of events. In the coming months, look for additional add-ons, such as platforms to share photos and documents, and the ability to connect and collaborate with other members. See the following pages for instructions on logging into the site, renewing your membership and detailed descriptions of new features. Atlanta Bar Website User s Guide Page 1 Logging In 1. Your username will not change. All passwords will be set to atlantabar1. If you have forgotten your username, contact Kari DeLoach at kdeloach@atlantabar.org. 2. The sign-in box is located on the top right column of any web page. Once you enter and submit your login information, you will be able to manage your profile and create a new password. Renewing Your Membership Online Current Members Select Manage my Profile under My Profile in the top right column (you must be logged in.) Select Invoices. Filter invoices by open. Select the current dues invoice to view and pay. New Members Select Join Online under For Members on the site navigation. Follow the instructions on the form. Setting Up Your Profile To edit your profile, change your password, customize notifications and view open invoices, click Manage my Profile under My Profile in the top right column. Information and Settings Edit Bio: Allows you to update your password, professional and contact information, select areas of practice, search items, and choose privacy settings for individual fields. - Click the lock icon beside fields you would like to be private (red lock means private, green lock means public).
Atlanta Bar Website User s Guide Page 2 - Select Areas of Law and Sections if you would like this information to show up in online directory searches. - Select your practice areas if you checked Areas of Law on the Directory Search. - All items typed into the text boxes at the bottom of the page will display in your member profile. My Preferences: View and manage preferences and notification settings for your account. Select items to receive alerts and notifications. Be sure to select Turn on my Wall to receive the benefits of many features listed below. Invoicing, Payments & History Invoices: View pay and print your invoices. Filter cancelled, open and paid invoices. Membership: View your membership status and view membership renewal options. Content & Features Some features in this category have not been enabled. Look for updates in the coming year. Networks: Select networks from the drop-down menu and provide links to your personal and professional social media pages. Networks you provide will appear on your profile. Photos: Upload photos to your wall. You can customize who sees your photos, provide captions, manage multiple albums and allow other members to comment on
Atlanta Bar Website User s Guide Page 3 your photos. Files and Links: Add documents, resumes and other professional resources to your file library. Customize file library provacy settings by clicking the lock icon. Community Some features in this category have not been enabled. Look for updates in the coming year. Messaging: Message other members, connections and manage your messages from other members. Create folders to organize your website communications. Groups: View and manage group membership. Configure group options. Connections: Manage your connections by assigning them to categories, link quickly to their profiles by clicking on them or remove them from your list by deleting them. Making connections allows you to easily find and communicate with other members of the site. **To make a connection, visit a members profile by searching in the member directory. Select Connect with member at the top of the member s profile*** Referrals: Ask others to join by clicking the refer a friend icon and completing the form. Also, view a list of the members who have joined the Association via your invitation. Three levels of referral are displayed. You may see who you referred, who they referred, as well as who was referred by your referrals referrals. Mouse-over the profile icon to view the date the member joined and click the icon to view the member s profile. Forum Subscriptions: View a list of your forum subscriptions. Add a forum signature, which will display at the bottom of each post you submit.
Atlanta Bar Website User s Guide Page 4 Blog Subscriptions: View a list of your blog subscriptions. As a subscriber, you will receive email notifications of any activity, including each new post. You may choose to be notified of new comments as well by clicking on the red conversation bubble in the options column. Conversely, clicking on a green conversation bubble will stop notifications generated by comments. Clicking on the red circle with an X on it will unsubscribe you from that blog altogether. Networking & Careers Some features in this category have not been enabled. Look for updates in the coming year. Resumé/CV: Attach your Resumé/CV to your wall by completing and submitting the form. Additionally, you can attach other documents to your Resumé/CV. Viewing Your Profile Profile Home: Upload a headshot, view groups, and edit information. Public Profile: Click here to see how other members view your profile. Sections and Other Groups When you join Sections, Committees or the Lawyer Referral & Information Service you are automatically added as a member of your chosen groups. You can visit your groups by clicking Profile Home in the My Profile box on the right side of any web page. Groups will be listed in the box on the left side of the page.

Group Directory Event Calendar (specific to that group) Blogs (Members can post comments) Forums (Members can post threads and comment on existing threads) Photo Gallery (Members can upload photos from events. Must be approved by an administrator.) Suggestions Form (Members can submit suggestions to the Board of Directors) Calendar To view a full list of upcoming Atlanta Bar Events, select Calendar from the top navigation. The new website calendar allows members to filter event types, view a monthly event snap-shot, export events to personal calendars, and more. To view an event and register online, Click the event name.
