11367 More than a Number By Hanna Rose
Defining a Neighborhood 11367 Map Queens College Is my home base; I also wanted something that included this side of Main Street.
In the Beginning Queens College was founded in 1937 (according to Google). Before that, it was the Jamaica Academy, a one room school house (wikipedia). Mount Hebron Cemetery performed its first burial on April 14, 1909 (mounthebroncemetery.com). It was a farm in the 17+1800s.
Was known as Head of the Fly in the 19 th century because it was where the Flushing river started. Basically, it all used to be a farm.
I saw this there once
Other Important Places Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church: founded in 1939 (queenofpeace.com). Two synagogues. Five specifically Jewish schools. Eight other public schools ranging from elementary to high school. (http://www.unitedstateszipcodes.org/11367/)
