IV. PLEDGE TO FLAG V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes of the regular meeting of June 29, 2004. Motion Second Vote To Our Visitors.... Members of the public may place items on the agenda of any regular Board meeting. The items must be directly related to school district business. Requests for placement must be made in writing and delivered to the office of the District Superintendent not later than 12:00 noon on the sixth (6th) business day prior to the meeting. The position of the item on the agenda will be determined by the Superintendent, who may consult with the Board President on the matter. Items placed on the agenda by the public will be for information and discussion so that the Board may be advised of the views of the community. The Board reserves the right to place the item on the agenda of a subsequent meeting for action. Members of the public may address the Board regarding items on the agenda as these items are taken up. Prior to the start of the meeting, persons wishing to speak will, on forms provided, indicate name, address, and item on which they intend to speak. If the matter is listed as an item for Board action, the Board will not take action until persons who have requested to speak have done so. Unless otherwise approved by the Board, the total time allotted to all persons wishing to speak to an item shall not exceed fifteen (15) minutes. In case of numerous requests to address the same item, the Board may select representatives to speak on each side of the item. An individual who requires disability-related accommodations or modifications, including auxiliary aids and services, in order to participate in the Board meeting should contact the Superintendent or designee in writing. VI. HEARINGS Citizens may address the Board of Education at this time. Following recognition by the president, each speaker may have the floor for five minutes. Persons addressing the Board are requested to give name, address, and the group or organization they represent, if any, in order that an accurate record can be made in the minutes. Items not appearing on the agenda cannot, by law, be the subject of Board action. Such items may be placed on future agendas for full discussion and/or action. VII. [Exhibit E-2] E-3 Public Hearing pertaining to the Agreement Summary between the Bakersfield City School District and the L.I.U.N.A., FUSE-SETC, affiliated to Local 550 A public hearing will be held at this time to receive public comment regarding the agreement summary between the Bakersfield City School District and L.I.U.N.A., FUSE-SETC, Affiliated to Local 550 are required by AB 1200. [Exhibit E-3] E-4 Initial Proposals of the Bakersfield Elementary Teachers Association for Bargaining Reopeners Pursuant to Article 13 of the Current Negotiated Agreement between the BCSD and BETA It is recommended that the Initial Proposals of BETA for bargaining reopeners, pursuant to Article 13 of the current negotiated agreement between BCSD and BETA, be received as a matter of record in compliance with Section 3547 of the Government Code.
