SDG Indicator Framework - UN Statistical Commission agreed March 2017 on new SDG indicator framework, voluntary and country led, data nationally owned - ECOSOC to approve framework in May 2017, General Assembly by end 2017 - One third of 204 SDG indicators still lack methodology, expected by March 2018
Key Messages on SDGs Baseline - In 2000 : 1.75 billion people in extreme poverty. - In 2012 : 900 million people in extreme poverty - Goal for 2030 : no people in extreme poverty. - 800 million people suffer from hunger, 154 million malnourished children, 2030 goal - no hunger or malnutrition - Births of a quarter of children under 5 not recorded, - 1.1 billion people live without electricity - water scarcity affects more than 2 billion. - 2015: global economy produced 34.65 Gigatons Co2 emissions, significant increase over year 2000. CO2 emissions need decrease some 90% for 2 C or 1.5 C limit
Key Messages on SDGs Baseline - 2015, 15 per cent of youth (ages 15 to 24) unemployed - rate over three times the rate for adults (4.6 per cent). - Children from the poorest households more than twice as likely to be stunted as their richest peers. - 80 per cent of urban inhabitants enjoy piped water, only 33.3% of rural - LDCs, LLDCs and SIDS reported much higher prevalence undernourishment, than developing regions as a whole (13.6, 9.8 and 5.1 percentage points higher, respectively) in 2014-2016.

Reporting in 2017 and beyond National Voluntary Reviews (NVRs) -Member states to "conduct regular and inclusive reviews of progress at the national and sub-national levels, which are country-led and countrydriven" (paragraph 79) -NVRs: to inform regular reviews by the high-level political forum (HLPF) (paragraph 84) -NVRs : voluntary, state-led, all countries, involve multiple stakeholders -NVRs : sharing of experiences (successes, challenges and lessons learned) so as to accelerate implementation Agenda 2030 -NVRs : strengthen policies and institutions, mobilize stakeholder support and partnerships.
