PAGE 2 NEWS UPDATE DECEMBER 2012 IMPORTANT: Renewal Deadline For 2013 By Deanie Kennedy JCNA Administrator The deadline for the clubs getting the renewal information to me is January 31, 2013. So be sure that you get your renewals back to your local membership chairperson promptly. The membership renewals have to be in by January 31st. I will have all the records up-dated before the AGM so all clubs are able to vote at the AGM. I will also be sending the membership card information to the printer prior to leaving for the AGM. This worked very well in 2012 so we are going to continue with the same format going forward. IMPORTANT; Judge Designation Information To the Club Chief Judges please make sure that your local Club Membership chairs have the current information on all of your club Certified Judges in time for them to submit this information on the renewal roster so that the J is in place on the roster they are sending to me so that all of your judges have the proper judge designation on their membership card. IMPORTANT: PayPal Option Information I again would like to encourage all clubs to sign up for the PayPal option on the JCNA site. Clubs do not need to have their own PayPal account. When new members sign up on the JCNA web site, they will be offered the option of either sending the club a check directly or paying using either credit card or PayPal. At the end of the month your treasurer will be sent a check for the club s portion of their dues. The clubs that are using the Pay Pal option are seeing a significant increase in members. People like to be able to fill out their application, pay and have their membership process completed. If your club doesn t currently allow for the payment through Pay Pal please encourage them to do so. IMPORTANT: Club Information Page on JCNA Website Clubs, please update the information on your club page. When I am ready to send the club a check, I will be looking at the club page on the JCNA site. There is a space under Treasurer where your club s treasurer s address can be filled out and that would make mailing you your checks much easier. One more reason to update your club contact information is, when clubs apply to Jaguar Cars for Event Sponsorship by the February 28th DEADLINE of each year, Jaguar Cars will be looking at the club page to see if there is contact information available on the club s JCNA. com page. The reason Jaguar Cars is doing this is so Jaguar Cars can easily contact club officers. If Jaguar Cars sends an email to an address listed on the club page and the email address bounced, Jaguar Cars will deny the financial support. They feel if they cannot contact the club then neither can potential members who could also be potential Jaguar car purchasers. Things are going very smoothly with the electronic method of submittal. The renewal process went very well last year. As always please feel free to contact me with questions or comments at anytime Deanie Kennedy 888-258-2524 or dkennedy@jcna.com. Southern Arizona Club Holds 40 th Concours By Fred Secker JCSA Concours Chair On Saturday, Oct. 27 at St. Philips Plaza in Tucson, we held the 40th Jaguar Club of Southern Arizona Concours D Elegance. The weather was perfect, the venue unbeatable and the lineup of cars was superb. Thirty-three Jaguars of all ages arranged around the plaza gave an eyecatching spectacle and provided onlookers with a tableau of 65 years of quality performance car production. There was a good mix of classic and modern Jaguars and all were beautifully prepared by their proud owners who put in a great amount of time and effort to present their cars in tip-top condition. Many owners brought cars from as PEOPLE S CHOICE Bob & Lynn Brown's 1962 MK2 Continued on Page 3
PAGE 3 NEWS UPDATE DECEMBER 2012 Southern Arizona Club s 40th Concours a Fall Success Continued from Page 2 far afield as San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Phoenix. Two cars achieved the maximum score of 100 points. The Tucson Jaguar dealership, Royal Automotive Group, brought three of the latest models. An XJ, XF and XK were prominently displayed for the admiration of all. To see the finish and read the specs on these three models was to marvel at what Jaguar has achieved in recent years. Royal is the main sponsors of our Concours and we are most grateful for their help over the past several years. Also present this year was a display by the Northern Jaguar Project showing the work they are doing to preserve this magnificent animal. They have purchased Larry & Marj Schafer s 2004 XKR Portfolio Edition land in Northern Mexico and now have a large reserve which is the northern-most habitat of this sleek and powerful beast. We are proud to support their efforts in our own small way. A cocktail party with a Halloween theme had been held the previous evening at the Windmill Inn. Ghostly lights and grinning pumpkins greeted the many wizards, witches and ghouls who attended. Everyone was in great spirits and a devilish good time was had by all. The culmination of our concours event was the Gala Awards Dinner held at the Westward Look Resort. Forty-eight people gathered for pre-dinner drinks on the terrace overlooking the city lights before sitting down to an excellent meal. After a few words from the JCSA president and concours chair, the awards were presented to the lucky winners who are too numerous to be mentioned here. Bill & Judges Choice, Ken & Ann Smith s 1961 XK150 DHC Lynn Brown s primrose yellow MK2 won the People s Choice and Ann & Ken Smith s XK150 DHC won Judges Choice. After dinner we were given an excellent talk by Diana Hadley of the Northern Jaguar Project. A great number of people contributed to the success of this event and a huge vote of thanks goes out to them all. See you next year, same time, same place.

Hershey, right, receives a check from Garret Cohen of Jaguar Land Rover Harrisburg, title sponsor of the Susquehanna Valley Jaguar Club s Concours d Elegance, planned for Saturday May 25, 2013 in York, PA. A GREAT Garage! The word garage is hardly adequate to describe the space where Dick Cornelius parks his exceptional collection of vintage cars, which includes but is not limited to Jaguars. It s more of a showroom and a classy one at that. Check out the January-February Jaguar Journal to find out more about about this Jaguar Club of Greater Cincinnati member s Great Garage.
