Amendment I - Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Amendment I - The government can't make a law that says you can't practice your religion, nor can they stop the freedom of speech or being able to publish paper, and you also have the right to complain to the government. Group 1

Amendment II - A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. People can have weapons within limits, and be apart of the state protectors. Group 2

Amendment III - No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. Amendment III- During the time of peace, people cannot be forced to give soldiers a place to live in their homes. During wars, Congress may set other rules. Group 3

Amendment IV - The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. The Fourth Amendment means that in order for a police officer to check and arrest someone, he or she will need to get permission to do so from a judge. In order to get permission, the police officer must have proof or evidence that supports it. The police officer, or whoever has the evidence, must swear that it is true. Group 4

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. No person should be accused of a very bad crime unless they have had an actual charge from a bunch of judges. This applies for everybody except for people serving in the military. Also, nobody can be put on trial twice for the same crime. The person on the trial does not have to give information that make him or her look guilty. No belongings may be taken from the person until they have been given a punishment and a fair trial. Group 5-2014

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense. Anyone accused of a crime is allowed to defend themselves from being put in jail or other consequences for their actions. The person accused of the crime has the right to be defended by others to help get proven innocent. They can go to trial, know the charges against them, hear the evidence and witnesses against them, call a witness in their defense and have a lawyer. Group 6

Amendment VII - In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States A person can sue another person for an act they think is wrong in a trial involving more than 20 dollars. Group 7

Amendment VIII - Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted. You cannot punish people in strange or mean ways. Before people are found guilty, they should have an opportunity to stay out of jail by giving some money to the court to hold until they come back (bail). Group 6 2014

Amendment IX - The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people There are other rights that may exist aside from the ones clearly mentioned, and even though they are not listed, it does not mean they are not there. Group 4
