Project lessons learnt Achievements Timelines: Initial volume of 50k Passports and Personalization system were ready in 30 days. Production started in May 2013. Contract is valid for an initial period of 3 years with possibility of extension Challenges: Setting up priorities from both sides (internal and customer side) and successful coordination of activities within such a short timeline Installing the system with the previous system running in parallel Opportunities: Kosovo Project has shown that switching of systems and/or their upgrading from State Authorities point of view can be made within a short period of time The success of the project has built the foundation of trust between stakeholders which led to a successful implementation from G&D of an eid project based on the German model Both projects allowed the Ministry of Interior to comply with all technical and security standards set by the EU Page 9
FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES Since December 2013, Kosovo has one of the most modern airports of South Eastern Europe. An egate system would complete the circle of the most advanced ID Solutions in the world Page 10
