At our July 11th meeting, we were joined by Assistant District Governor- Area 1 Julie Pedretti. Julie shared with us her three strategic priorities: Support and strengthen clubs Focus and increase humanitarian service Enhance Rotary s public image and awareness There are three ways that we can follow Rotary in the news: Twitter (Rotary International) Facebook (Rotary International) Instagram (rotaryinternational) Above, Wayne Dahlstrom and Tom Parkhurst present Julie Pedretti with a recognition of service award. Julie shared with us that this year we have been challenged to plant a tree for every Rotarian by April 18th, 2018 EARTH DAY! Julie showed us the video of our 2017 2018 Rotary President Ian H.S. Riseley, of the Rotary Club of Sandringham, Victoria, Australia speaking at the Atlanta Conference. We had a little trouble hearing; please follow one of the links for your personal review of the video. http://video.rotary.org/auak/ian-hs-riseley-theme/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu0cxarlffw&list=llphqx2iyjc3q_ohgitr8xuw KEY NOTE FROM THE VIDEO THAT JULIE ALSO SHARED: Currently 5% of our membership is under the age of 40 20% of our membership is female Majority are over 60 Need to find new and better ways to attract and engage younger members WE NEED TO WORK TO BUILD CHAPTERS WITH YOUNGER MEMBERS TO PROTECT THE FUTURE OF ROTARY.
Wayne Dahlstrom was our fearless leader for our 2016 2017 year. Here he is receiving a very well deserved sincere appreciation for his service and major effort to improve our club! SERVCE ABOVE SELF!
