OBJECTS OF KIWANIS TO GIVE primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than material values of life. TO ENCOURAGE the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships. TO PROMOTE the adoption and the application of social, business and professional standards. TO DEVELOP by precept and example a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship. TO PROVIDE through Kiwanis Clubs a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service and to build better communities. TO COOPERATE in creating and maintaining sound public opinion and high idealism which makes possible the increase in righteousness, justice, patriotism and good will. President s Message Greetings to All You Good Citizens of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Sacramento! KI's President, in the newsletter recounted his Kiwanis Moment, so inspired, I shared mine at our last meeting. I had asked myself, why do I want to give my time and money to people I don't know and may never meet? Then I thought of the pure joy and enthusiasm in Ann Isaacs's voice at the last Women's Empowerment Luncheon, when she said, " That was FUN, when can we do this again!" Ann's joy moved me, and I realized what an honor it is to serve with people who truly enjoy helping our brothers and sisters as much as I do. Dear members, would you please recount your Kiwanis Moment at an upcoming meeting? Thanks. Our first Board Meeting of 2018/19 went very well. The two big issues were, to vote on the new budget (which we did) and vote on the question of granting the request from East Sacramento. East Sacramento has ask us to allow them to sponsor Kennedy's Key Club. After much discussion the vote was unanimous to transfer the sponsorship The Special Election is on October 18th. We have one candidate for the Board position and no-one for VP. Please contact Armando or Cecilia if you would like your name on the ballot! Lorie has asked for a head count for the DCM, please let me know by Tuesday, if you are coming. Please note new times, Dessert & Service Project 6:30, Meeting 7:00 at the KFH, Oct 18th. Lastly, I would like to say THANK YOU to Jo, Steve, Dave C., Yoli and Marty for their time and efforts to bring a fair and balanced budget to the Board. Queen of the Commas signing off, Cecilia Osladil, President Kiwanis Club of Greater Sacramento
