Special Election Qualified Write In Ballots Town Council Randle Stevens 1 Jackson Watt 1 Greg Szupillo 1 Wanda Spannuth 1 Resolution #16-166, Page 2 WHEREAS, the Surfside Beach Municipal Election Commission properly held a Certification Hearing on April 7, 2016, the results of which are herein stated; and WHEREAS, the results of the General Election for Mayor with a term beginning May 10, 2016 and ending May 12, 2020 established that Bob Childs with 436 total votes was the successful candidate; and WHEREAS, the results of the General Election for Town Council with a term beginning May 10, 2016 and ending May 12, 2020 did not have any successful candidates, but that Mark Johnson with 366 total votes, Mary Beth Mabry with 334 total votes, Ron Ott with 309 total votes, and Randle Stevens with 293 total votes are hereby named to participate in a runoff election to fill the three town council seats. WHEREAS, the results of the Special Election to fill an unexpired term ending May 8, 2018 did not have a successful candidate, but that Vicki W. Blair with 230 total votes, and Tim Courtney with 301 total votes are hereby named to participate in a runoff election to fill the unexpired term. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Surfside Beach Town Council does hereby adopt the findings of the Surfside Beach Municipal Election and as is incident to the adoption of this Resolution Town Council finds that the facts set forth in the recitals hereof and the statements herein made are true and correct; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that RUNOFF ELECTIONS shall be held on Tuesday, April 19 th, 2016 for three (3) town council seats in the GENERAL ELECTION with candidates Mark Johnson, Mary Beth Mabry, Ron Ott, and Randle Stevens appearing on the ballot and for the unexpired term in the SPECIAL ELECTION with candidates Vicki W. Blair and Tim Courtney appearing on the ballot. Polls will be opened from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The candidates that receive the highest number of votes in both the General Election and the Special Election shall be deemed successful. Douglas F. Precincts Surfside #1, Surfside #2, and Surfside #4 delivered to the undersigned the respective Oath, Tally Sheet, and Return of Election forms, along with the Poll List, envelopes containing ballot tapes, and a signed statement of the election results. 5.
