RESOLUTION NO. 16-18 A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE ELECTION RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMEBER 8, 2016 FOR THE CITY OF GRANBURY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING MAYOR, PLACE ONE (1) AND COUNCILPERSON PLACE TWO (2). WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 16-08 of the City of Granbury, Texas adopted on July 19, 2016, a General Election was duly held on November 8, 2016 for the purpose of electing Mayor, Place One (1), and Councilperson, Place Two (2) for full terms; and WHEREAS, said election was held with the solemnities and formalities necessary to make it a valid election, all notices having been posted in the manner and for the length of time required by law; and WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident voters of the City of Granbury, Texas, voted at the Special Election; and WHEREAS, section 67.003 of the Texas Election Code, as amended, generally provides that each local canvassing authority shall convene not later than the eleventh (11th) day after the Election date for the purpose of canvassing the election results; and WHEREAS, section 1.006 of the Texas Election Code, as amended, provides that if the last day for performance of an act is a Saturday, Sunday, or legal state or national holiday, the act is timely if performed on the next regular business day; and WHEREAS, returns and tabulations from said election, attached hereto as Exhibit A, was received from the Hood County Elections Administrator as set out in the Joint Election Agreement signed and approved on the July 19, 2016. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRANBURY, TEXAS THAT: SECTION 1. That all of the findings contained in the preamble of this Resolution are found to be true and are adopted as findings of fact. SECTION2. It is officially found and determined (Exhibit A) that in said election, each of the candidates received the following votes during early voting and on Election Day: MAYOR, PLACE ONE (1) Nin Hulett 2,616 100 %

COUNCILPERSON, PLACE TWO (2) Tony Allen Greg Corrigan 1,664 54.41 % 1,394 45.59 % SECTION 3. It is hereby found and determined that the City Council of the City of Granbury approves and accepts the results of the said election, and therefore the following candidates are hereby elected: Nin Hulett is hereby elected as Mayor, Place 1 for a full term. Tony Allen is hereby elected as Councilperson, Place 2 for a full term. SECTION 4. If any part or parts of this resolution are found to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court having competent jurisdiction, then such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the remaining parts hereof and such remaining parts shall remain in full force and effect, and to that extent this resolution is considered severable. SECTION 5. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution is passed was open to the public as required and that public notice of the time, place, and purpose of said meeting was given as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, and Local Gov't Code.
