6 DEGREES 6 Degrees drives a global conversation on citizenship and inclusion. The Canadian initiative includes an immersive annual threeday event in Toronto, as well as a series of one-day pop-ups across Canada and around the world. 6 Degrees is about connection, conversation, artistic representation, and the power that comes from bringing people together. It counters rising nativism and exclusion, and instead, invites everyone to find a place in our circle. THE WORK OF INCLUSION The perspective is increasingly common: immigrants are a negative drain on economies and societies. It s also untrue. Newcomers are innovators, taxpayers, entrepreneurs, and employers. They make vital contributions to the communities where they live and work but only if they are welcomed and supported. With the world of work changing around us, how can diversity and inclusion be bulwarks against social unrest and anxiety, and cornerstones for successful economies and societies?
