September Crime Report 2018 PURPOSE: The purpose of this report is to provide an analysis of Coeur d Alene crime for the month of September 2018. Information provided: Compstat Report for calendar month and year to date. Arrest statistics for calendar month. Calls for Service / Officer Activity for calendar month. Compstat Monthly Map for calendar month. Month-to-Month Comparison Maps Part 1 Crimes (Compstat Crimes) by calendar month. DATA SOURCE: The information used for this analysis was Summit / Spillman data compiled using CrimeView Mapping / Analysis and Crystal Report / Excel Statistical Charts. CompStat: Part 1 Crimes Offense Normal Range for August Part 1 Crimes - Monthly Analysis September 2018 Aggravated Assaults No Change: Six of the eleven incidents were domestic related. Dispositions: Seven closed by arrest/warrant, two active and two where the victim refused to cooperate. Rape: Four active investigations, suspects have been identified in all four cases. Robbery (1): Suspects entered the victim s motel room and took his belongings. All three suspects were identified and arrested. Auto Burglary 24% Decrease: One suspect was located and arrested, minutes after the burglary. See maps for details on locations. Auto Burglaries by District 5 6 Non-Residential Burglary No Change: Two incidents reported, no suspects have been identified. 1 4 Residential Burglary 18% Decrease: Two suspects identified and arrested. 81 82 83 84 85 Theft 35% Decrease: 12 of the incidents were shoplifting related. The remaining were thefts from buildings open to the general public or where the suspects had legal access to. A total of twelve cases were closed by arrest or citation. Vehicle Theft 60% Increase: Three vehicles and five motorcycles were reported stolen. Detailed information: 1995 VW Jetta, still stolen; 1988 Chevy Blazer, recovered in Shoshone County; 2017 Nissan Titan, still stolen; 2015 Harley Davidson Street glider, still stolen; Four dirt bikes stolen, three recovered and one remains stolen. Patrol arrested one juvenile suspect involved with the dirt bike thefts.
