CL/3732 page 3 United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Director (D-1) UNESCO Office Baghdad (Iraq) (temporarily located in Amman, Jordan) Main responsibilities Under the overall authority of the Director-General and his Assistant Directors-General, and under the supervision of the Director, Bureau of Field Coordination, the incumbent of the post will be responsible for setting up the UNESCO Office for Iraq (first, on a temporary basis in Amman, then in Baghdad, upon the fully-fledged return of the United Nations to the country). The incumbent will be in charge of UNESCO s overall action for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Iraq, responsible for the formulation, execution and evaluation of the programmes of the Office and for its management.
