BOARD OF DIRECTORS 100 Hawthorne Boulevard Joe Sullivan---------- President Dan Henderson ----- Vice President Fay Farrington ----------Secretary Beth Boast ---------- Treasurer Gary Butler---------- Director Steve Doody--------------- Director Bob Marabella ---------- Director Frank Tucker --------------- Director Ed Walsh------------------ Director FROM THE PRESIDENT It is often said that Hawthorne runs on volunteers!!!!! well-trained employees. Try getting along for a week without our When was the last time you attended a state dinner at the auditorium and had to set up the tables and chairs and have the auditorium set up by 8:00 AM the next morning for a group meeting? While you are doing this, also be out at the pool at 7:0 AM getting it ready for a day of senior leisure. On Easter Sunday morning when our young employees should be horne helping their children find their Easter baskets they are setting up for a Sunrise Service at the pool, after which they must clean up and get the pool ready for swimming. Has our pool ever been shut down because an employee put in the wrong chemicals? I have seen pools shut down for several days for this reason. When was the last time you asked an employee if they would help you move some furniture, cut a tree limb, rake your lawn or other tasks when their HRCA day is done and they refused you? When was the last time you wanted to jump on a lawn mower when the temperature was over 90 degrees and drink that warm water you have been carrying with you all day? Be careful when you set in the shade of an oak tree for a few minutes as big brother is watching. I could go on and on but if you don't get my drift by now you never will. ~... I think it is time we all took a deep breath and showed a little appreciation toward our employees and remember that most of a % raise will be used up in insurance benefits. Also, remember most of them are still raising a family. Aren't you glad you're not? Tell your Board members to pass this budget.
