Committee Business: Murray Tingey will follow up with the Shire of Serpentine as to whether KAMS field can retain its Bush Forever status. Hobbytech International has shown interest at placing an advertising sign at KAMS field. An invoice for advertising has been handed over but as yet funds have not been received. General Business: We had received an invitation to attend the York show on the 6 th September. It was presented to the meeting and there was no support from any members to attend the show. SIG representatives are reminded that content is required for the new kamsrc.com.au website. Individual log-ins for SIG pages are yet to be created but content can go straight to the web design firm for uploading to the site. The Committee would like to put forward that the KAMS By-Laws be amended regarding the hand launching of models. The By-Laws currently state: 5.6 HAND LAUNCHED MODELS Models must be launched by a helper from a position at the windward end of the pilot holding area and approximately five (5) metres in front of the pilot holding area. A search of the MAAA MOPS, specifically [MOP056 - Safe Flying Code] and [MOP027 Award of Wings] do not say that hand launching is not allowed by a pilot. MOP027 states that for glider bronze and gold wings examination that the pilot is required to launch the model. Murray Tingey put forward a motion that the wording of paragraph 5.6 be changed to read: 5.6 HAND LAUNCHED MODELS Models must be launched from a clear position at the windward end of the pilot holding area and approximately five (5) metres in front of the pilot holding area. Gary Herren seconded the motion. The meeting voted and the motion was carried. By-Law 5.6 will be revisited at the next general meeting and voted on in accordance with Paragraph 32(2) of the KAMS Constitution. The Bring and Buy day will be re-instated in the event calendar for the 4 th October. Geoff Doughty will organise the event. It is not anticipated that the field will be closed for the event. Ken Heinz raised the Busy Bee day for this year. It was asked if the mowing team could handle the duties this year. Ken will check back as to whether the mowing team will be sufficient otherwise the membership be encouraged to attend and assist in maintaining our fantastic facilities. Meeting Close 20.47Hrs
