Statutory Document No. 39/03 THE PAYMENT OF MEMBERS' EXPENSES ACT 1989 THE PAYMENT OF MEMBERS' EXPENSES (SPECIFIED BODIES) ORDER 2003 Coining into operation 1st March 2003 In exercise of the powers conferred on the Treasury by sections 4(1) and 5(1)(c)(iii) of the Payment of Members' Expenses Act 1989, and of all other enabling powers, the following Order is hereby made: S 1. Citation, commencement and interpretation (1) This Order may be cited as the Payment of Members' Expenses (Specified Bodies) Order 2003 and, except as provided in paragraph (2), shall come into operation on the 1st March 2003. (2) This Order shall be deemed to have come into operation so far as it relates to the Police Advisory Group and the Police Consultative Forum, on the 1st November 2000; so far as it relates to a board of visitors, on the 1st June 2002; (c) so far as it relates to the Minimum Wage Committee, on the 1st December 2002. (d) so far as it relates to the consultative body established under section 2 of the National Health Service Act 2001 2, on the 1st February 2003. 2. Bodies whose members are entitled to attendance and travelling allowances The bodies listed in Schedule 1 are specified for the purposes of section 4 (attendance allowances) of the Act. 3. Bodies whose members are entitled to travelling allowances The bodies listed in Schedule 2 are specified for the purposes of section 5 (travelling allowances) of the Act. Article 4. Revocation 2. MADE this 29 th day of January 2003 Minister for the Treasury EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order.) This Order prescribes the bodies whose members are entitled to attendance allowances and travelling allowances under the Payment of Members' Expenses Act 1989. Non-Tynwald members of bodies listed in Schedule 1 are entitled to attendance allowances and travelling allowances; members of bodies listed in Schedule 2 are entitled to travelling allowances only. The bodies specified in article 1(2) are added to the Schedule 1 list (with effect from the dates there specified). The Order replaces the orders listed in Schedule 3, which are revoked.
