Mr. McGinnis In an effort to assist teachers to plan and pace instruction each grade level worked last year to build specific pacing calendars for Math & Language Arts. These calendars consist of Scope and Sequence timelines that will help teachers in unit planning with assurances of covering all aspects of the curriculum. 5. New Business (IA) 5.1 Architect Presentation Mr. McGinnis At the July 7 th work session meeting the BOE sets goals to; study options to replace the gym floor at Bonner Springs Elementary School, build a plan of improvement for the Braves Athletic Complex which includes ease of access, more parking, and upgrades to locker/restroom facilities, and study opportunities to improve and update the auditorium at BSHS. To facilitate this process, HTK a local architecture firm will be presenting information about their services and how they can help the district achieve these goals. HTK has successfully provided its clients with comprehensive architectural services since the firm was founded in 1958. Now into their sixth decade, HTK has continued to evolve, adding key associates and keeping an eye to the future completing new design, addition and renovation projects throughout Kansas, Missouri and Iowa. HTK has two office locations one in the Kansas City Metro area (Overland Park) and one in Topeka. Two of the four current partners oversee the Topeka office and two oversee the Overland Park office. Budget Conscious HTK is known for their outstanding estimating capabilities. Their construction bids, on average, come in 4% below their original estimate; and their non-owner initiated change orders have averaged less than 1/2% of the original construction cost. Satisfied clients come back again and again, averaging 90% repeat business over the last decade. HTK Architects, P.A. is dedicated to providing comprehensive design services of the highest quality. HTK believes architectural and engineering excellence is the result of effective communication, creative design that is sensitive to individual client needs and responsible control of the building process.
