World Health Organization (WHO) estimates of tuberculosis incidence by country, 2017 Definition of high incidence With reference to the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommendations for BCG vaccination and screening in England and Wales, countries/territories with an estimated incidence rate of 40 per 100,000 or greater are considered to have a high incidence of tuberculosis. Countries with rates greater than or equal to 150 per 100,000 have been signposted with a tick symbol.
