Lanaville supported by PDG Dr. Doubledee to accept which was carried unanimously (outstanding 3 clubs listed in report, there are 56 clubs-- L Anse, Barbeau and Ishpeming Tri-Township have been dissolved). District Governor s Report and Comments: DG Doney gave an Oral Report (he has received lots of help from IPDG T. Lanaville and he is excited about the coming year, service, membership, leadership were the messages given by ID Bob Corlew, Centennial year service challenge report projects each club, Japan elect PDG Jenny Ware). ID Jenny Ware Comments: ID/PDG Ware gave an Oral Report (fantastic experience excellent rep SD 10 Governor and spouse thanks PDG Stephens Campaign Manager, big mountains to climb, new Int l. Gov. sign banner sew all banners together for Int l. Conv. in Chicago, Dan Perkins Zone Event all clubs Lifesaving Safety Stations in the Mining Journal, State Rep. Kivela was there, Int l. Pres. Medal of Apprec. to Dan Perkins which is 4 th highest award Lions). Tim Bennett: Bennett gave an Oral Report (he has been @ Bay Cliff for 32 years, every small Community has Lions Club no better friend to Bay Cliff Health Camp). 1 st Vice District Governor s Comments: 1 st VDG Whalen gave an Oral Report (wow thanks for coming today, Stephenson Club sent a bus full, looking forward to this year, bike tour was tough). 2nd Vice District Governor s Introduction/Comments: 2 nd VDG Kobasic was excused. Zone Chair Reports/Introduction of new Zone Chairs: Region 1-Zone 1 (DG Doney hasn t appointed a Zone Chair--Bessemer, Mountain, Ottawa, Tri-Township, L Anse and Baraga Lions Clubs): Region 1-Zone 2 (DG Doney hasn t appointed a Zone Chair--Calumet, Chassell, Houghton, Keweenaw, Lake Linden-Hubbell and Range Lions Clubs): Region 2-Zone 1 (Zone Chair Bernadette Haeusler-Champion, Crystal Falls, Iron Mountain-Kingsford, Republic and Vulcan-Norway-Loretto Lions Clubs): Lion Haeusler was excused due to her husband s illness. Region 2-Zone 2 (Zone Chair Lion Daniel Perkins- Chocolay Township, Ishpeming, Ishpeming Tri-Township, Marquette, Negaunee and Skandia Lions Clubs: A Written Report was submitted. Region 3-Zone 1 (Zone Chair Lion James Svinicki- Carney-Nadeau, Daggett, Ford River, Menominee, Powers-Spalding and Stephenson Lions Clubs): Lion Svinicki gave an Oral Report (Menominee Club is in trouble-pdg Wojakowski has been working with them, other Clubs are doing fine, new Leo Club in Stephenson) Region 3-Zone 2 (Zone Chair Scott Kwarciany-Bark River, Brampton-Days River Area, Escanaba, Gladstone, Heart of the North, Rapid River and Wells Lions Clubs): Lion Kwarciany gave an Oral Report (not much to report, will have a report for the next Cabinet Meeting, Escanaba active, HOTN is doing well)

Region 4-Zone 2 (1st VDG Jim Whalen- Chippewa, Engadine-Naubinway, Germfask-Seney, Manistique, Manistique Lakes and Newberry Lions Clubs): 1 st VDG Whalen gave an Oral Report (he has offered help no takers, all Clubs are doing well, Manistique Lakes Club 4 th of July barbecue, Germafask-Seney Club community150 years celebration and the Club was involved, Newberry Club has a car show same weekend) Region 5-Zone 1 (Lion Tracy Movalson- Drummond Island, Kinross, Les Cheneaux, Mackinac Island. Pickford and St. Ignace Lions Clubs): Lion Movalson submitted a Written Report which was supplemented by an Oral Report (Mackinac Island Club is struggling while the other clubs are holding their own, Pickford Club has a 75 year party and St Ignace Club an 80 year party) Region 5-Zone 2 (Zone-Chair Lion Andrea Osborn- Barbeau, Brimley, Dafter, Rudyard, Sault Ste. Marie and Sugar Island Lions Clubs): Oral Report was given by several of the LIONS from the area (Sault Club has a new project and vision program, United Way program, Dafter Club and Boy Scouts working together) Committee Reports/Introduction of new Committee Chairs: Single District 10 Leadership Team: Global Leadership Team Coordinator SD-10 (Chair ID/PDG Jenny Ware): PDG Ware gave an Oral Report (IPDG Tom Lanaville will take over, Leadership Training @ Convention, the SD 10 Centennial Chair was not present so touched on Bradfield motorcycle ride) Global Membership Team Coordinator SD-10 (Chair PDG Bill Rowe): PDG B. Hearing Preservation, Awareness and Action (Chair PDG Bob St. Peter): PDG St. Peter submitted a Written Report which was supplemented by an Oral Report (thanks Treasurer for handling $$$, doing great, Clubs please contact the Committee for Hearing Aids). Information Technology (Chair Lion Dayna King): A Written Report was submitted. International Convention (Chair PDG Duane Goltz): PDG D. Goltz gave an Oral Report (LIONS will celebrate 100 years next year). International Understanding and Cooperation (Chair PDG Bob Miller): No report. Leader Dogs (Co-Chairs PDG Gary Klop and Lion Gretchen Preston): PDG Klop submitted a Written Report which was supplemented by an Oral Report by Lion Preston (Committee has divided east and west portions of our District, they are glad to visit, Canine Development Center project complete lots of support SD 10, need General Fund support because of Capital project). Leader Dogs for the Blind Canine Development Center Regional Campaign (Chair PDG Jack Holzworth): PDG Holzworth gave an Oral Report (3 years ago dream complete renovation $14.5 million has been met, tremendous support from SD 10, Open House Sep t., 3 kennels named from our District). Lions Club International Foundation LCIF (Chair PDG Jerry Stephens): PDG Stephens gave an Oral Report (thru May 2016 $7,995 down a little, better next year?, continue to promote, Melvin Jones Award is a tremendous honor if awarded @ In tl. Conv., healthy $$$, questions please feel free) Eversight-Michigan (Chair Lion Bill Munsell): A Written Report was submitted and supplemented by an Oral Report by PDG Stephens. Michigan Lions Service Foundation (Co-Chairs DG Tom Lanaville 1 year term and Lion Bruce La Belle 2 year term): IPDG T. Lanaville gave an Oral Report (over $100,000 sales new record this year, great fundraiser if over 100 tickets, Wells Club is doing this as a fundraiser in fall, Hall of Fame in August in Lansing honor Lions need to help submit names to Bruce or Duane, 2 cruises next summer see packet, Project Kid- Sight 5k Run/Walk, PDG D. Old Business: There wasn t any Old Business. New Business: Pickford LIONS Club 75 year anniversary party is to be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 ID/PDG Jenny Ware is the Speaker. Announcements: Governor Doney announced that the next SD 10 LIONS Cabinet meeting is Saturday, October 22, 2016 starting at 10am at Rapid River Lions Club House (NOTE the meeting actually started @ Noon due to the Appreciation Party after for out-going Governor Tom Lanaville). Discussion of possible dates/times for outgoing Governor Tom Lanaville s Appreciation Party (September 24 has been changed to October 22 nd @ Highland Country Club $15 per person for a 2 meat buffet) Tail-Twister: Motion bylion J. Goltzr supported by PDG D. Goltz to donate $162 collected by the Tail Twister to Marquette Lifesaving Stations project for 3 plaques recognizing Lions Clubs, which was carried unanimously.
