The election is Tuesday, November 8th! If you haven t mailed your ballot yet, do it now! There s also still time to help get out the vote! Reach out to Jon at jon.c.culver@gmail.com or call 502-807-1976. As of right now there are still packets for precincts we haven t walked yet so even if you ve done one, let us know and we could use help on another. Our next meeting is Thursday, November 17th! It s a potluck so feel free to bring a salty or sweet finger food or juice or soda but don t let that stop you from coming if you can t bring anything either. We ll have some really exciting post-election analysis with some great guests and also talk about the Seattle election vouchers. Vouchers will be available in January, well before filing week so it s a good time to talk about how that s going to work. And we don t have a meeting in December. Instead we ll have our holiday party and auction. We re looking for help planning and organizing. If you re interested, let me know at chair@46dems.org. Steller Post-Election Analysis Event Our November 17 th General Meeting features a panel of astute political commentators you won t want to miss. Join us Thursday, November 17 th at 7 p.m. at Seattle Mennonite Church, 3200 NE 125 th St. for a potluck (salty or sweet finger food/juice or soda) looking back/looking forward special event. Our post-election analysts include Ben Anderstone, political consultant and elections demographer at Progressive Strategies 360; Andrew Villaneuve, founder and executive director of Northwest Progressive Institute and best-known Tim Eyman opponent, who will address ballot initiatives; 46 th District Senator David Frockt, Halei Watkins, recent District 5 candidate for City Council and Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest, now at WinPower Strategies; E. J. Juarez, executive director of Progressive Majority Washington; moderated by Seattlish co-founder and blogger, the witty Hannah Brooks Olsen. Our program will begin with a brief presentation on Democracy Vouchers, experiment with public campaign financing. Beginning January 1 st, each Seattle voter will receive four $25 vouchers that can be given to any qualified candidate for the 2017 local elections. Presenting for the Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission will be program Manager Rene LeBeau and PR Specialist Annie Tran, followed by questions. Time to Renew! This meeting will be the ideal time to renew your membership for 2017. Our next meeting will be January 19 th, our two-year reorganization and elections meeting.
